Green, Elov Ybarra, Buck Brice and Steven Blv Guests: Meagan Winer 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Dr. Barbara Whitlock at 12:30 p.m. 2. Discussion and possible Approval of Minutes from September 20, 2012 The minutes were not readv so Cheryl Martinez moved to table the minutes until October 18, 2012 and Harold Bemiett 2 nd the motion. 3. Discussion and possible Approval of Absences from September 20, 2012 Barbara Beni was absent due to work, Cheryl Martinez moved to approve the absence, and Heather Tamoski 2"" the motion. All in favor. 4. Discussion of the Current Zoonosis Report Dr. Whitlock informed the committee that there was nothing in Nueces County in September. 5. Discussion of Current Shelter Report Eloy Ybarra read the Current Shelter Report. Picked up by ACS Officers in the field, dogs 150, cats 68, others 188 total of 406. Dropped off: dogs 172, cats 188, others71, total of 431. Total income of animals dogs 322, cats 256, others 259, total of 837. Outgoing relocates; dogs 0, cats 0, others 15, total of 15. Rescued: dogs 6, cats 0, others 0, total of 6. Adopted: dogs 79, cats 30, others 0, total of 109. Return to owners: dogs 23, cats 3, others 2, total of 28. Discussion, review and nossible recommendation for immediate release of unaccomnanied puppies and kittens under ten weeks of ate. A general discussion was held on the possible recommendation for immediate release of unaccompanied puppies and kittens under ten weeks. Buck Brice discussed no stray holds and changing it from ten weeks to 16 weeks or 4 months. Cheryl Martinez moved to change it from 10 weeks to 16 weeks /4 months. Barbara Benvon 2 "" the motion. All in favor. 7. Discussion, review and possible recommendation of Cite Animal Control pet registration fee for unaltered animals A general discussion was held on the City Animal Control pet registrations fees. It was discussed to change the price to $35.00 or $50.00 for a one year unaltered license with a corresponding 3 year license. 8. Discussion, review and possible recommendation of revised Owner Surrender Form A general discussion was held on a proposed City Animal Control owner surrender form. Possibly revise the form and making it a triplicate copy with detailed questions. One copy will stay with the owner, one with the animal and one at the facilitv. A fee was discussed and tabled by Chervl Martinez. 9. Discussion, review and nossible recommendation for Sterilization Voucher on Return to Owners and Impound Fees A general discussion was held about Return to Owner pets and possibly having the pets sterilized before leaving the facility. Possibly making the fee high enough to take out the animal unaltered or pay X amount for the sterilization and take out the pet. Cheryl Martinez moved to table, all were in favor. 10. Public Comments Commander Green commended P.A.A.C. on the adoption event. Commented on steady adoption increase, vacant position in the front office, new uniforms for staff. Thanked the staff for trying hard and P. A. A. C. for their incredible work. 11. Identift items to be placed on next agenda The committee wanted the following items on the agenda for the month of October 2012. Discussion, review, and possible recommendation for immediate release of unaccompanied puppies and kittens 16 weeks /4 months of age: Discussion, review, and possible recommendation of City Animal Control pet registration fee for unaltered animals; Discussion, review, and possible recommendation of revised Owner Surrender Form: Discussion, review and possible recommendation for Sterilization Voucher and Impound Fees on Return to Owners. 13. Adiournment Ms. Martinez made a motion to adjourn, Heather Tarnoski 2"' . all in favor, motion passed 2:30 p.m.
