HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Animal Care Advisory Committee - 08/20/2015 MINUTES OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI ANIMAL CARE ADVISORY MEETING Nueces County Public Health District Conference Room,2626 Holly Minutes for August 20,2015 Members Present: Dr. Barbara Whitlock, Cheryl Martinez, Samantha Person,Mark Phillips,Megan Tisdale Members Absent: Megan Winn,Harold Bennett City Staff: Ana Lisa Puente,Joseph Brice,Roxanne Trim, Captain Christopher White Guests: Christina Davis 1. Call to Order: The meeting was called to order by Dr. Barbara Whitlock at 12:31 P.M. 2. Discussion and Approval of Minutes from August 20,2015 Dr. Whitlock had a change to the minutes. 42 Discussion and approval of minutes should say June 18`h. There are three changes to June 18`h instead of July 16`h. Cheryl Martinez stated under the approval of absences should be for June 18`h and not April. Cheryl Martinez mentioned that the revised minutes need to be sent to city hall. Ms. Martinez stated the presentation PDF should be attached to the minutes that are going to city hall. Cheryl Martinez moved to approve minutes with revisions, Mark Phillips seconds, approved with all in favor, no opposition. 3. Approval of Absences Samantha Person and Harold Bennett were absent last month. Samantha was out due to work.. The committee will wait to vote on Harold's absence next month since he is not present this month. Cheryl Martinez moved to approve and excuse Samantha Person's absence, Mark Phillips seconds, approved with all in favor,no opposition. 4. Discussion of Current Texas Department of State Health Services Region 11 Zoonosis Report There is no new report this month. 5. Discussion of Parks and Wildlife Report No rabid animals have tested positive. 6. Discussion of Current Shelter Report There was general discussion on Shelter Report for July.The reports state August on top and need to be corrected and put in the packet for September after corrected. More cats have been taken in during the month of July compared to last year. 7. Discussion of Current and Previous Clinic Report General discussion on Clinic Report for the month of July. 173 surgeries were done in clinic. 8. Discussion possible Advisory walk through tour of new facility We will have to do the walk through the new facility next month the new facility is not in condition for the members to walk through at this time. 10. Discussion and possible recommendation of ordinance for dogs left in hot cars This will be tabled until the following month. 11. Public Comments No public comments. 12. Identify items to be placed on next agenda Items 1-9 Absences for July Tour of Facility Hot Cars Update on Council Action for Proposed Ordinances(TNR,Tethering and Dangerous Dogs) 13. Adjournment Adjourn 12:42 p.m. Cheryl Martinez moved to adjourn, Samantha Person seconds and adjournment passed unanimously.
