LaBarrett, Joye ® ❑ El El Total_ -- 6__ - 3 2011 M 'S OFFICE CALL TO ORDER - The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:08 pm by Chair, Heidi Hovda. 11. ROLL CALL - The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum. Ill. APPROVAL OF MINUTES a. Special called meeting May 18, 2011 and July 12, 2011 i. Joe Schenk made a motion to approve the minutes. Dianna seconded. Minutes were approved. IV. PUBLIC COMMENT - None V. OLD BUSINESS (DISCUSSION / POSSIBLE ACTION) a. Succession planning for ACC membership i. Reba has not received applications for ACC membership. Have not spoken with Corinne and Kelly to see if they want to reapply. Reba will forward John Dykema an application. ii. Commissioners thanked Frank for serving on the commission. b. Completion Reports for 2009 Art Subgrants i. Joye located computer files of several applications, but has not yet found the paper files. ii. Corpus Christi Symphony has not yet submitted their completion report. c. Arts & Cultural Alliance i. ACA will meet next Wednesday. They are currently working on promotional event at La Palmera Mall. ii. Still working on 501(c)(3) status. d. FY12 Budget i. No funds given to the Arts and Cultural Commission. ii. Commission raised concerns regarding funding to cover maintenance of all the public art in the city. e. Art Maintenance i. No update. f. Public Art Program 1. Reba reported that the Police Station art by Jack Gron cannot be attached to the wail. The artist came up with an alternate solution. The piece will be placed on a platform a few feet from the wall. -Frank took over the meeting as Heidi had to leave. ii. MOU from Kspace was submitted with final draft of proposed mural. iii. Still waiting on final measurements for Dusty Durrill's `Wind Dancer' Art Piece. g. Cultural District Planning i. Heidi tabled to be discussed at the next scheduled meeting. VI. NEW BUSINESS (DISCUSSION 1 POSSIBLE ACTION) Joye asked about plaques that were made at Festival of the Arts that were to be placed at Norma Urban Park. Reba will look into. VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON NEXT AGENDA a. Review of meetings discussion L Cultural District Designation ii. Completion Reports for 2009 Subgrants iii. Arts and Cultural Alliance iv. Vote on New Commissioners Vlll. ADJOURN a. Dianna made a motion to adjourn. Joye seconded. Motion passed. Frank Trimble, Co- Chair, adjourned meeting at 4:52 pm.
