I. CALL TO ORDER - The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at
4:05 p.m. by Dianna Bluntzer.
11. ROLL CALL-The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum.

IV. OLD BUSINESS(DISCUSSION I POSSIBLE ACTION)
Sandy Stein Sculpture–Proposal for relocation
Reba George reported that by memo the Parks and Recreation Director and the City Manager can
approve a change to the proposed relocation and that the City has the plans originally drawn for the
Ropes Park location. By General Consensus this item was tabled until the next ACC meeting.
Art Maintenance
Reba George announced that a bid for maintenance work on Selena and Orion's belt has been submitted
and the work to restore these two pieces will use nearly all of the art maintenance funds for FY1 3. Reba
also announced that Dennis Balthuskanis has agreed to work with the City for a training workshop to
teach those interested how to treat and maintain metal works of art. The details for both of the
announcements are still being negotiated.
Mel Chin Sculpture Repair
Reba George announced that the repair to the vandalized 'Untitled History' sculpture is currently
scheduled to take place in October. Mel Chin will be sending Barron Brown from his studio to install the
new feet. City Staff and the media will be on site to take photographs and Dianna Bluntzer will look into
having the Corpus Christi Art Center host Mr. Brown during his stay.

Reba George gave a brief update on the 2013 and 2014 Arts Grants
Membership Vacancies
Reba George gave a brief update on the status of new appointments.

Dedication for Wind Dancer
Dianna Bluntzer gave a brief update on the Wind Dancer dedication to be held on October 161h and will
send notice to the ACC of the exact details as they become available.
Ordinance Review
City Staff distributed an Action Plan for Ordinance Change and gave a brief overview of the process.
