I. CALL TO ORDER - The Regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:04 p.m. by Brad Kisner. II. ROLL CALL-The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Special Called Meeting, March 18, 2014— Dianna Sherman moved to approve the minutes as amended. Cathy Harrison seconded. Minutes were approved. IV. PUBLIC COMMENT— None V. OLD BUSINESS Ishka Monument Committee Report The Commissioners read the Ishka Monument Committee report and after some discussion Dianna Sherman moved to recommend the City of Corpus Christi enter into an Art Donation Agreement with the South Texas Alliance of Indigenous People (S.T.A.I.P.). Sean Mintz seconded. Motion was approved. Arts Forum Item tabled until the May planning retreat. Art Maintenance Reba George reported that after discussion with the artist, Robert Perless, the City has received an acceptable bid from Alpha to clean Orion's Belt per Mr. Perless' Maintenance instructions. A phone interview is scheduled with James Surls regarding his maintenance instructions for Six or Seven Flowers. The Selena Memorial will be taken care of by Dusty Durrill and there are a few stone sculptures around the American Bank center that may possibly be cleaned this budget year as well. Public Art Projects, Administration and Conservation Reba George Reported that the Oso Agreement has been executed, The ISHKA Monument will go before Council May 13th and 20th. The Jack Gron plaque has been installed, A viable cleaning method has been established for Orion's Belt so Alpha will submit a revised bid and begin cleaning soon, James Surles is reviewing the Zahner proposal and Six or Seven Flowers will most likely be cleaned in the next budget year, and we are waiting to hear from the Durill's regarding the Selena Memorial. VI. NEW BUSINESS Planning Retreat The Planning Retreat will be held on May 13th from 5 to 8pm. Suggested topics for discussion were the Arts Ordinance, constructing a business plan - Five Year Master Plan, The Arts Grants, an Arts Forum, and idea brainstorming in specific areas the Commissioners represent. VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE NEXT AGENDA VIII. ADJOURN Dianna Sherman Moved to adjourn. Stephen Rybak Seconded. Motion passed.
