I. CALL TO ORDER-The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:25 p.m. by Brad Kisner. II. ROLL CALL-The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular Meeting, August 19, 2014 — Dianna Sherman moved to approve the minutes as submitted. Carla Gardiner seconded. Minutes were approved. IV. PUBLIC COMMENT— None V. OLD BUSINESS Public Art Projects, Administration and Conservation Reba George gave a brief update on several ongoing projects including the Selena Memorial, Orion's Belt, and Six or Seven Flowers maintenance. Veterans Memorial Update Reba George announced that PRAC also approved the donation so now it will go to City Council for approval. Arts Grant Update City Staff announced that there were 19 different groups represented at the Arts Grant Workshops this year and that one application has come in so far. The application deadline date is October 30th, City Staff will review the applications for eligibility and the ACC will be given Application packets to review at the November 11th meeting. The scored applications will be due back to City Staff on Tuesday, December 2nd and the Commissioners will make Arts Grant awardee recommendations at the December 9th meeting. VI. NEW BUSINESS Arts Forum Evaluation The Arts Forum was a success. Brad Kisner thanked everyone for their part in making the event successful and especially to the Art Museum for the space. The event was announced in the Caller Times and it was noted that there were new organizations present and that they also participated in the Arts Grant Workshop as a direct result of the Arts Forum. Presentation to City Council Reba George showed a short PowerPoint presentation highlighting the Arts Grants, current projects, the Arts Forum and upcoming projects. The presentation will be made in November or December depending on the City Council meeting schedule. TCA—Cultural District Grant Joe Schenk led a brief discussion about the history of applying for the Cultural District Grant. The Commissioners were given a copy of a 2011 Letter of Intent and discussed the proposed Cultural District boundaries. Dianna Sherman stated that the Downtown Management District is also interested in gaining a Cultural District designation. Reba George will contact Terry Sweeney with the DMD to determine their interest and the ACC will review the 2011 Letter of Intent and research the TCA Cultural Districting for further discussion at the November 11 th meeting. 1 VII.
