I. CALL TO ORDER-The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:03 p.m. by Brad Kisner. II. ROLL CALL-The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Regular Meeting, November 11, 2014 — Stephen Rybak moved to approve the minutes as submitted. Cathy Harrison seconded. Minutes were approved. IV. PUBLIC COMMENT— None V. OLD BUSINESS Public Art Projects, Administration and Conservation Reba George gave a brief update on several ongoing projects including the Fire Station #5 Dedication on December 17th; the lights on the Selena Memorial have been fixed; and the Orion's Belt restoration is set to begin in January 2015 and expected to take about a month; Joe requested that the lights be fixed at that time. Arts Grant City Staff gave a brief review of the Funding available for the Arts Grants and requested consideration of setting aside $10,000 for a reprint of the Arts tour Book, pamphlet, and digital guide. Commissioners discussed ideas to aid them in future grant scoring including a shared evaluation by Commissioner's attending events, possible workshops or forum's on audience data collection for grantees, and a required notification of when events will happen. Sean Mintz moved to approve $10,000 from the Grant Funds to produce a Public Arts publication in print and digital format. Dianna Sherman seconded. Motion passed. City Staff presented the Commissioners with a tally of their scores both in raw scores and in ranked order. After review of the Grant Guidelines and brief discussion of the organizations that received an average score of 50% or higher an administrative note was made that the funding request for the Corpus Christi Downtown Management District included $1,000 for an ineligible item and would therefore be lowered by that amount for a new total of$14,000. Cathy Harrison moved to recommend to City Staff to fully fund all grant applicants with an average of 50% or more. Carla Gardiner seconded. Motion passed. VI. NEW BUSINESS VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON THE NEXT AGENDA Arts Grants Cultural District Permanent Art Trust Fund VIII. ADJOURN Cathy Harrison moved to adjourn. Sean Mintz seconded. Motion passed.
