I. CALL TO ORDER - The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at
12:03 p.m. by Stephen Rybak.
II. ROLL CALL-Stephen called roll and announced quorum.
III. PUBLIC COMMENT— None
IV. OLD BUSINESS
Public Art Projects, Administration and Conservation
No updates were provided.
V. NEW BUSINESS
Collier Pool Public Art Project
Paul, Chair of the Collier Pool Art Selection Panel, reported that the original artist selected for the Collier
Pool Public Art Project, Melissa Borrell, decided that she would not be able to provide the artwork she
had proposed. The Art Selection Panel reconvened and met with Monument Fine Art & Sculpture
Conservation, the other finalist for this project, at which time Monument amended their original proposal
to include more shade by adding approximately 10 more birds to their structure. The Art Selection Panel
is now recommending that the Arts & Cultural Commission approve Monument Fine Art & Sculpture
Conservation and their proposed artwork for the Collier Pool Public Art Project.
The Commissioners reviewed the original and revised art proposal from Monument. Discussion centered
on the functionality of the shade structure, the amount of shade provided, and requiring a quantifiable
increase of shade to their revised proposal. Paul moved to recommend that the City enter into an
agreement with Monument Fine Art & Sculpture Conservation to fabricate and install their Public Art
Project for Collier Pool contingent upon Monument agreeing to add an additional 20% more birds/shade
to their revised proposal. Sarah seconded. Motion was unanimously approved.

Laura moved to adjourn. Paul seconded. Motion passed. Stephen adjourned the meeting at 1:15 p.m.
