CALL TO ORDER — The regular meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:37 p.m. by Chair, Chuck Anastos. II. ROLL CALL—The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum. III. APPROVAL OF MINUTES —April 14, 2002 Elizabeth Reese corrected the spelling of Debra to Deborah Fullerton. Colin Sykes made a motion to accept the minutes as corrected. Elia Gutierrez seconded. Motion passed. Elizabeth Reese abstained. April 23, 2002 Frank Trimble made a motion to accept the minutes as written. Colin Sykes seconded. Motion passed. IV. HEARING FROM PUBLIC Representatives from the Corpus Christi Ballet, Bertha Nell Barth, Carman Bonelli, Christina Monroe and Dr. Mary Ann Wilkinson, requested a grant application though they did not attend the required workshop. The Projects Committee will review this request at their meeting on May 16, 2002 and make a recommendation to the Commission at the June meeting. V. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION A. Convention Center/Arena Art Project Update Dennis Kemmerer reported the Development Committee requests all Commission members contact their public art support groups and individuals to encourage the City Council Members to support this project. There will be a Council vote for the contract negation phase on May 21st. Commission members and supporters are encouraged to attend. (Anne Stewart left at 5:02 p.m.) VI.
