ROLL CALL -The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -April 13, 2005 Motion by Judith Prewitt, 2nd by Lynda Jones, to approve minutes as written, motion passed. HEARING FROM PUBLIC- none Chair introduced "Alberto" Garcia, our newest, replacing Marilyn Spencer for Economic Development. V. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: 1. Discussion of Art Arena Reception: Chair requested Dr. Valadez to talk about the reception. It's possible some grant funds could be used. It would be in the arena lobby and invitiations would be issued to PARD/Commissioners/dignataries, etc. 300-400 people. Beer and wine would be sold through the Arena concessionaire. There would be some entertainment, perhaps the Carroll High School jazz band. It was suggested an ArtWalk be built into the reception. VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS - PERFORMING ARTS - DeAnne Gould-Lancaster-The FOA meetings are being held the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of each month at the Galvan House at 5:30 p.m. There will be some changes to the website and the Kickoff will be held at Cole Park on March 4th. The PR has brought in several volunteers to work with the committee. Gloria B-Benibo arrived at 4:40 p.m. VISUAL ARTS-The Chin and Jimenez are now complete. The Vandable is on-target. The Rush Cole is installed and complete. Sally Gavlik is trying to establish an account for the % for Arts dollars. Danny's pieces at the library and the airport are completed now. CULTURAL ENRICHMENT -Judith Prewitt-Discussion on grant applications; not very many were received this time. Committee will meet to discuss several issues pertaining to the Subgrant applications. Some discussion followed, with some A.C.C. commissioners indicating they would like to see more than 1 month allowed for the Subgrant process. Someone suggested notification on the City utility bill, calling individual organizations, and making the workshop mandatory again. • 1110 STAFF REPORT—Theestside Business Association still has not submitted their invoice for the fountain. CURRENT CONCERNS —none Anne Stewart arrived at 5:10 p.m. ADJOURNMENT - As there was no further business, DeAnn Gould-Lancaster made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Lynda Jones 2nd the motion.
