CALL TO ORDER-The meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 5:35 p.m.
by Chair, Chuck Anastos.

II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - May 12, 2005
Motion by Lynda Jones, 2nd by Ed Grove, to approve minutes as written.
HEARING FROM PUBLIC - None
Elia Guttierez arrived at 5:40 p.m.
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: None
VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS -
PERFORMING ARTS - Ed Grove - Group is making progress; has lots of volunteers. Still
accepting L.O.M.s
VISUAL ARTS - Lynda Jones - Mel Chin pieces should be here late June or early July. Seth
Vandable will be here on June 28 to set the stadium piece.
CULTURAL ENRICHMENT- Mando Camino-Committee has extended the time subgrant
applications will be available by 2 weeks (beginning mid-March), still with an April 30th deadline
and a workshop on the 3`d Tuesday of April. There will be additional promotion next year through
radio/TV interviews and a message on the utility bill. As far as the workshop requirement, it was
decided to have new applicants attend as well as those with major problems in their grant
applications this year. The Visual Arts Committee is concerned about monies left over at the
end of the year.
STAFF REPORT-None
CURRENT CONCERNS -Dacquiri emphasized the importance of recycling. Anne Stewart
talked about a campus event. And could a connection be made with Driscol Children's Hospital
and the installation event at the Baseball Park.
ADJOURNMENT - As there was no further business, Dacquiri Richard made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. Lynda Jones 2nd the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:25
p.m.
