CALL TO ORDER-The meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:35 p.m.
by Chair, Chuck Anastos.
I. ROLL CALL-The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES-June 9, 2005
Motion by D. Lancaster, 2nd by G. Benibo, to approve minutes as written.
HEARING FROM PUBLIC- None
V. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: None
VI. COMMITTEE REPORTS -
PERFORMING ARTS- DeAnn Gould-Lancaster- Committee meets 1" & 3`d Wednesday each
month; progressing right along. Lots of new participants.
VISUAL ARTS- Chuck Anastos - Mel Chin was in town and sited the locations for the
Installation of each piece. Jimenez piece has been delivered and we are waiting for the base.
Staff is working on the Permanent Art website. Baseball art has been installed.
CULTURAL ENRICHMENT-Anne Stewart- Evaluations and scoring are moving forward.
STAFF REPORT-ADA Legal Specilist will be in town to discuss ADA issues. The Peneda
scupture has been cleaned and restored.
CURRENT CONCERNS -Chair requested commissioners to be sure and attend committee
meetings, as there is so much work being done.
Note: The August meeting will be held in the 6`" floor meeting room.
Anne Stewart mentioned the 21'Century Rights in Education conference will be in Corpus Christi
July 26-29. Http//:21stcenturyconference.tamucc.edu Alberto Garcia discussed Cole Park Band
Conference.
Diana presented mockup of website design.
ADJOURNMENT - As there was no further business, Judith Prewitt made a motion to
adjourn the meeting. Anne Stewart 2nd the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:55
p.m.
