ROLL CALL-The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES -July 14, 2005 Motion by Anne Stewart, 2nd by Judith Prewitt, to approve minutes as written. Minutes were approved. III. HEARING FROM PUBLIC- Jennifer McClaren, Education Coordinator for the Art Center. IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: Create Nominating Committee for the new year: Ed Grove, Judith Prewitt and Anne Stewart compose the nominating committee. Judith Prewitt nominated Chad Luhan for chair, and he accepted. Mando Camino was nominated by Lynda Jones; he accepted. No vice chair is elected; the chair of the Visual Arts Committee chairs in the absence of the Chair. Chairs of the sub-committees will also be chosen. Nominees are requested to speak for 5 minutes at the next meeting. Anyone else desiring to run for chair will declare him/herself. After the 5 minutes from each candidate, a vote will be taken, the old chair will step down and the new chair will continue the meeting. It was mentioned that the agendas are created by the A.C.C. chair and each committee chair. V. COMMITTEE REPORTS - PERFORMING ARTS - DeAnn Gould-Lancaster- The committee is working on conducting a marketing workshop for cc non-profits on November 9 at Heritage Park; putting out quotes for a new website and working on the Chalk Art contest. The kickoff will be Saturday, March 4 at Cole Park. Carolyn Appleton's (now with Boy Scouts) name was brought up as an excellent grant writer. VISUAL ARTS - Lynda Jones - There is a new Wilhelmi artwork on the Fire station on Rodd Field Road. The Mel Chin pieces are here. V.A. is planning for plaques on all pieces of art. The Agnes overpass tiles are not %-for-art. Work needs to be one on that project. Jazz Festival needs money to bring a group of youngsters from Florida for this year's Jazz Festival. It was suggested that an appeal be made to the public through the Caller Times. CULTURAL ENRICHMENT- Mando Camino -The Committee will score the 2006 subgrants in the next two weeks and then the A.C.C. will complete the scoring. STAFF REPORT—The Manager wants to highlight local art in the City Atrium. It was suggested by Chuck An os that some of the city's Public Art co ction be exhibited there. Public Art Maintenance: The Coppini will be surfaced and sealed. The lighting will be recon- structed on Danny's piece at the central library. Does anyone kno9w if the bronze Christopher Columbus is part of the city's Permanent Art Collection? Was it donated to the city? CURRENT CONCERNS —The September meeting will be on the 6th floor. ADJOURNMENT- As there was no further business, Anne Stewart made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Ed Grove 2nd the motion.
