CALL TO ORDER-The meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to Tier at 4:45 p.m.
by Chair, Armando Camina. s t
I. ROLL CALL-The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES- Sept. 8
Motion by JRennier, 2nd by G.B-Benibo, to approve minutes as written. Minutes were approved.
III. HEARING FROM PUBLIC- Greg Perkes spoke on the Nueces Regional Park and requested
support of the Park from the Arts and Cultural Commission. Ann Stewart passed out a letter of
support that will be voted on at the next meeting.
IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION:
• Discuss & vote new proposed A.C.C. budget- delayed to a later meeting. More
information desired for the Commissioners.
• Public Art Tours for Bowlers -Corpus Christi is hosting a national bowling conference
from March until June, along with their families. The PARD is interested in presenting lots of
interesting things for these families to do while they are here. Self guided tours or A. C.
Commissioners could lead 2 hour tours of City Public Art. Every week a new group comes into
Corpus Christi and the economic impact of the bowlers is estimated to be 600 million dollars.
Also activities at Heritage Park.
V. COMMITTEE REPORTS -
PERFORMING ARTS - DeAnn Gould-Lancaster-
VISUAL ARTS - Lynda Jones -
An RFP will be on the website for the Northwest library extension.
There are 10 prints the Main library wants moved to a new location.
CULTURAL ENRICHMENT-Anne Stewart - Commissioners need to complete scoring so
process can go forward.

STAFF REPORT— Linda met with Jennifer McClaren at the Art Center and she's excited and
wants to do art work in the community. PARD will work with Jennifer at recreation centers,
latchkey and summer camps. Maybe have students do murals under supervision. Artwork with
an end product and show casing it at end of program.
Lynda Jones mentioned "Brushes for Vincent", a program providing art supplies for worthy
projects.
CURRENT CONCERNS— Promoting the Arts and Cultural Commission through media, fund
raising, hold a media get-together at HP and invite paper/radio/tv
It was suggested that the subgrantees be required to use Corpuschristidaily.com.
State Health, PR & Recreation Conference will be here after Thanksgiving and there will be an all
male HP Hip Hop group. Call Anne Stewart for more information.
CCConcert Ballet will be having "The Nutcracker" on 12/6. Suggestion made to have a "sharing
luncheon inviting the those folks interested in the Arts and media to find out what is going on.
ADJOURNMENT -As there was no further business, LJones made a motion
to adjourn the meeting, DLuna 2nd the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:55
p.m.
