I. ROLL CALL—The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES — December 15, 2005 Minutes. Motion by LJones, 2nd by FTrimble, to approve minutes as written. Minutes were approved. III. HEARING FROM PUBLIC—Jennifer McClaren, from Art Center, requested information about upcoming Grant Year. IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: Vote on A.C.C. Budget—There was much discussion on the budget as presented. Ed Grove moved, Elia Gutierrez 2nd motion to take $1,000 form Contingency fund and move it to the Festival of the Arts Budget. Motion Passed. Linda Jones moved, Jim Rennier 2nd motion to take $1430. from Contingency fund and add it to the Subgrant fund. To increase awards for Subgrant year 2006. 1 abstention, 4 votes for and 4 votes against motion. Armando Camina cast deciding vote to leave Subgrant monies as they are and not to add any more money to the Subgrant pot. Motion by Deanne G-Lancaster/2nd by Frank Trimble to accept Subgrant Awards as submitted. Motion passed unanimously. 5:10 pm. A Stewart Arrived • Vote on Subgrant Awards & hear appeals, if any. COMMITTEE REPORTS— Frank Trimble spoke with the CCSymphony about holding events during the Festival of the Arts. He suggested someone attend their board meeting next week. PERFORMING ARTS — DeAnn Gould-Lancaster— FOA moving along; promotions being set up, pretty much same as last year, but adding a couple of new newspapers, one that will promote the event in Spanish, through Rumbo. According to Albert Garcia tThe Texas Jazz Festival was voted No. 1 of all Texas festivals. VISUAL ARTS — Lynda Jones -The Jimenez is complete. 5:5pm Ann Stewart Left CULTURAL ENRICHMENT - STAFF REPORT — There is a new state ordinance requiring Commission members to have training in Open Meetings, some time this year. There will be a January 19 training session at the American Bank Center. For those who cannot attend, there will be video sessions available, which will be announced as they become available. monies deposited to the P.A.L.S. account. There will be a Corpus Christi Symphony Concert at Whataburger Stadium on May 28'h, with fireworks. CURRENT CONCERNS —Armando Camina met with Dr. Valadez to discuss hosting a luncheon with the media Looking at February° — mid to late. Opening at the Art Museum — "Go Red", a photography exhibit. ADJOURNMENT - As there was no further business, DeAnn G-Lancaster made a motion to adjourn the meeting, E Grove 2nd the motion.
