CALL TO ORDER -The meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:37 p.m.
by Chair, Armando Camina.
I. ROLL CALL - The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum.
II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - January 12, 2006
Motion by Don Luna, 2nd by Jim Rennier, to approve minutes as written. Minutes were
approved.
III. HEARING FROM PUBLIC - Welcomed Mrs. Urban , visiting from CCBallet.
Gloria B-Benibo arrived at 4:42p.m.
IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION:
• Protection of the Southwest Pieta by Jimenez. Item can be fenced and the base extended.
Motion by Frank Trimble, 2"' by Jim Rennier to allocate funds to "complete" whatever is
necessary for the statue. Motion passed.
V. COMMITTEE REPORTS -
PERFORMING ARTS - Ed Grove - Everything progressing, lots of good advertising: NPA radio
in the valley and Victoria, bulletin boards in S.A., Valley and Victoria area, as well as Beeville and
Sinton. Also promoting through Rumbo in San Antonio and the Valley, and other print media.
VISUAL ARTS - Dr, Valadez - It was suggested that a card be available for bowlers, explaining
the art works around the American Bank Center. Someone is needed from the Calallen area for
the Art Selection Committee on Wednesday afternoons.
CULTURAL ENRICHMENT -Anne Stewart - Scoring is going on for the Corpus Christi Ballet.
Grant applications for the 2007 Subgrant Year will go online March 20, 2006.
There are already about 3 groups planning on applying for Contingency funding this year.
CURRENT CONCERNS
It was suggested that the wording on the score sheets mirrors the wording on the applications.
Chair emphasized the importance of members attending their sub committee meetings.

ADJOURNMENT -As there was no further business, Frank Trimble made a motion
to adjourn the meeting, Don Luna 2nd the motion. The meeting was adjourned at 5:52
p.m.
