LaBarrett, Joye IZ 0 01 Total: 9 8 [1 CALL TO ORDER-The meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:44 p.m. by Acting Chair, DeAnn Gould-Lancaster. I. ROLL CALL - The Recording Secretary called roll, announced quorum. II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - Sept. , 2006 Motion by Molly Merkle , 2nd by Joye LaBarrett approve minutes. Minutes were approved. III. HEARING FROM PUBLIC - None IV. DISCUSSION ITEMS AND POSSIBLE ACTION: • Discussion and vote new committee chairs. DeAnn Gould-Lancaster & Ed Grove were nominated for Chair. DeAnn G-Lancaster was voted in. Judith Prewitt was nominated to chair Cultural Enrichment Committee; vote was unanimous in her favor. Lynda Jones was nominated to chair Visual Arts Committee; vote was unanimous in her favor. • Discussion to plan fall retreat for Goals. Date of Tuesday, November 7 was chosen; Art Museum location was suggested; Joe Pena will check on it. Chair will moderate meeting and there will be a catered lunch. • COMMITTEE REPORTS : PERFORMING ARTS - updated the website, listed non-profit organizations. Chalk artists are being considered and a workshop for students will be held. Oct. 24 a Board training will be held at Heritage Park. VISUAL ARTS - Jimenez piece not moved yet. CULTURAL ENRICHMENT -Scoring continues Ad Hoc Committees: By-Laws-3 forms handed out for study. A-suggest meeting time/day change as it conflicts with Leadership Corpus Christi. B-24 hours notice by way of email for minutes, meetings, etc. STAFF REPORT Cultural Services Joe Pena is in charge of setting up Art in City Hall on a regular basis. The 2nd Annual Ornament show will be held in November at Heritage Park. CURRENT CONCERNS — none ADJOURNMENT - As there was no further business, Molly Merkle made a motion to adjourn the meeting, Joye LaBarrett 2nd the motion.
