CALL TO ORDER-The Special Called Meeting of the Arts and Cultural Commission was called to order at 4:38pm by Chair, Lynda Jones. II. ROLL CALL -The recording secretary called roll, announced quorum. III. PUBLIC COMMENT- None IV. DIRECTOR COMMENTS a. Sally Gavlik announced that the 2009-2010 budget was presented to City Council. The arts budget was slashed. The hot fund budget is $17,533 and the general fund was eliminated. All funds were cut not just ACC and was not a recommendation by the Department. ACC can appeal but not sure about the flexibility. Parks& Recreation Department as a whole had a budget cut of 1.1 million. b. Joye LaBarrett stated that the ACC will need to develop a strategy to go in front of council. c. Sally also notified the ACC that they were not charged with the Festival of the Arts and was not mandated by council. d. Lynda Jones stated that ACC should be a non-profit group and not be under Parks & Recreation. Sally stated that ACC will continue to be a city function. e. Joye asked if fundraising was allowed. Sally said yes but cannot have a lot of city staff time. f. The council dates for general fund is June 9m and 16`h. The date for hot fund is June 3e. Michele will confirm the council dates and notify the ACC. V. NEW BUSINESS (DISCUSSION I POSSIBLE ACTION) a. Line item for Festival of the Arts i. Joe Schenk made a motion to table line item for Festival of the Arts until more money comes available. Judith Prewitt seconded. Motion passed. b. Line item for Creative Capital workshop i. Joe Schenk made a motion to table line item for Creative Capital workshop until more money comes available. Judith Prewitt seconded. Motion passed. VI. IDENTIFY ITEMS TO BE PLACED ON NEXT AGENDA VII.
