J. Welsh, Non-Voting Alternate BOARD MEMBERS ABSENT : None STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT: Susan J. Corey, Zoning Coordinator Michael Gunning, Senior Planner Elizabeth K. Butler, Senior Secretary Chairman Dykema opened the public hearing at 1:30 p.m. , in the Council Chambers at City Hall and explained the procedure to be followed. APPEAL NO. 2981 - Property located at 1618 Laredo REQUEST: Application by Revere National Corporation, Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, Union Depot, located in an I-2, Light Industrial District requesting a special exception to reduce the minimum required 10 foot side yard setback to zero feet. REPLIES RECEIVED IN FAVOR: 0 REPLIES RECEIVED IN OPPOSITION: 0 APPEARING IN FAVOR: Carolyn Boley APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: None STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Denial BASIS FOR RECOMMENDATION: The integrity of the 10 foot setback needs to be protected. MOTION: Motion was made by Mr. Veteto, seconded by Mr. Gamboa and passed unanimously to grant the special exception according to Zoning Ordinance SCANNED P.O. Box 9277 • Corpus Christi, Texas 78469-9277 • (512) 880-3000 City of Corms _ Christi Zoning Board Of Adjustment October 23, 1991 Page 2 Section 29-4.02, to reduce the minimum required 10 foot side yard setback to zero feet with the restriction that it be for the area of the sign only and not to extend the entire yard on Lots 1 and 2, Block 3, Union Depot, 1618 Laredo, since the Board finds that in its opinion, as a matter of fact, such exception will not substantially affect adversely the uses of adjacent and neighboring property. NOTE: For detailed information on testimony, refer to the tape retained on file in the Building Inspection Department. ************************************************************************* MISCELLANEOUS A motion was made by Mr. DeVille, seconded by Mr. Gamboa and passed unanimously to approve the minutes of the prior meeting as submitted. Mr. DeVille stated that he would like to commend Ms. Sue Corey and Mr. Ruben Perez, Assistant City Attorney, for the excellent orientation workshop.
