Vice Chairman Veteto opened the public hearing at 1 : 32 p.m. ,
in the Council Chambers at City Hall and explained the procedure
to be followed.

APPEAL NO. 3028 - Property located at 6514 Birmingham
REQUEST: Mr. Larry Satery, Lot 10, Block C, Airline #2 , located in
a R1B, One Family Dwelling District requesting a variance to reduce
the minimum required 6, 000 square foot lot size to 4, 198 square
feet .
REPLIES RECEIVED IN FAVOR: 0 REPLIES RECEIVED IN OPPOSITION: 0
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Larry W. Satery, Owner
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: None
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval
Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Barrera, seconded by Mr. Gonzalez
and passed unanimously to approve the variance to reduce the
minimum required 6, 000 square foot lot size to 4, 198 square feet on
Lot 10, Block C, Airline #2 , 6514 Birmingham, since the Board finds
that in its opinion, as a matter of fact, such variance is due to
unique condition and will not substantially affect adversely the
uses on adjacent and neighboring property.

REQUEST: Mr. Mody K. Boatright representing Mr. Barry Brazel, Lots

Apartment-Tourist District requesting a special exception to reduce
the minimum required 20 foot front yard setback to 10 feet for a
swimming pool and 3 feet for an accessory equipment vending shed.

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Gonzalez, seconded by Mr. Barrera
and passed unanimously to approve the special yard exception to
reduce the minimum required 20 foot front yard setback to 10 feet
for a swimming pool and 8 feet for an accessory equipment vending
shed subject to compliance scenic corridor ADP for palm trees and
subject to engineering department authorization for public ROW use
(as feasible) on Lots 2 , 4, 6, 8, 10&12 , Block 28, Brooklyn Addition,
since the Board finds that in its opinion, as a matter of fact,
such special yard exception will not substantially adversely affect
the adjacent property.

A motion was made by Mr. Barrera, seconded by Mr. Gonzalez and
passed unanimously to table this appeal until the June ' s meeting.

REQUEST: Merrell & Lisa Clark, Lots 50-54, Block 215, Director
Addition #1, located in a R1B, One Family Dwelling District
requesting a special exception to reduce the minimum required 25
foot front yard setback and minimum 25 ' sideyard setback to 24 feet
and 6 feet respectively.
REPLIES RECEIVED IN FAVOR: 3 REPLIES RECEIVED IN OPPOSITION: 0
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Merrell & Lisa Clark, Owner

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Approval
Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Barrera, seconded by Ms Tamez and
passed unanimously to approve the special yard exception to reduce
the minimum required 25 foot front yard setback and minimum 25 feet
sideyard setback to 24 feet and 6 feet for proposed addition and
existing garage on Lots 50-54, Block 215, Director Addition, 155
Cordula, since the Board finds that in its opinion, as a matter of
fact, such a special yard exception will not substantially affect
adversely the uses on adjacent and neighboring property.

MISCELLANEOUS
A motion was made by Mr. Barrera, seconded by Ms . Tamez and
passed unanimously to approve the minutes of the prior meeting as
submitted.

After a brief discussion it was the consensus of the Board to
schedule a workshop for Wednesday, June 22 , 1994 at 11 :30 a.m. , for
Board members and staff representatives .
A motion was made by Mr. Barrera, seconded by Ms . Tamez to
grant a request for Appeal No. 3024, 1115 W. Broadway.
The meeting was adjourned at 3 :20 p.m.
