Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 1:40 p.m. II. Roll Call Board members present: CliffAtnip, John Dykema, Chris Hamilton,John Kendall, and Ricardo Martinez Board members absent:Bill Ewing, Mike Lippincott City staff present:Steve Van Patten, Russ Arney, Deborah Brown, and Elsa Martinez III. Approval of Minutes: March 25,2010,Special Meeting Mr. Chris Hamilton made a motion to approve the minutes of the March 5, 2010, Special Meeting as presented, seconded by Mr. Ricardo Martinez. The motion carried unanimously. IV. Review, Discuss, and Act as Appropriate on the 2009 International Existing Building Code and Any Proposed Local Amendments After review and discussion of proposed local amendments, Mr. Chris Hamilton made a motion to make revisions to the proposed amendment for the 2009 International Existing Building Code to read as follows: 1301.4 Investigation and evaluation. For proposed work covered by the chapter, the building owner shall cause the existing building to be investigated and evaluated by a registered architect or licensed professional engineer in accordance with the provision of Sections 1301.4 through 1301.9. The motion was seconded by John Kendall and carried through unanimously. V. Review and Discuss Permitting Fees Schedule The board tabled this item for a future meeting since Mr. Draper was not present to discuss. VI. Building Official's Report A. Department Updates B. Staffing The board suspended discussion of Building Official's report due Mr. Draper's absence from the meeting. VII. Public Comments Board members may not deliberate or make a decision on any matter presented at this time. The Open Meetings Act limits Board response to only two options: 1)a statement of specific factual information given in response to an inquiry; or 2) a recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry. Any deliberation of or decision about the subject shall be limited to a proposal to place the subject on the agenda for a subsequent meeting. Ms. Jeri Morey shared viewpoints on the international existing building code, specifically with ecoring spaces, the fifty percent rule in a level two scope and referenced Section 703.2.3, and SCANNED Minutes of the Building Code Board of Appeals Regular Meeting April 15,2010 Page 2 VIII. Identify items to be placed on next agenda Items identified for next meeting's agenda include the energy code, board positions open for appointment, and terms of board positions. IX.
