Building Code Board of Appeals
Thursday, May 18, 2016
I. Call to Order: 1:32 PM
II. Roll Call: Present. Gary Camp, Robert Knowles, Randy Farrar, Chuck Anastos, and Ramiro Munoz, 111
Absent: Ray Jones and Steven R. McClure
III. Approval of Absences: Regular Meeting on February 18, 2016: Steven R. McClure
Motion to approve absences was made by R. Knowles and seconded by G. Camp.
IV. Approval of Minutes:
A. Regular Meeting: February 18, 2016
V. Public Comments
➢ Board members may not deliberate or make a decision on any matter presented at this time.
➢ The Open Meetings Act limits Board response to only three options:
1. a statement of specific factual information in response to the inquiry;
2. a recitation of existing policy in response to the inquiry; or
3. advising a citizen that the matter will be placed on an agenda at a later date.
VI. New Acton Mobile Industries: Appeal of Building Official Denial of Permit Based on City Ordinance
Requiring TDI Compliance.
Board member, Ramiro Munoz, 111, recused himself from Item# VI.
Staff presentation was given by Building Official, Gene Delauro. After board-members discussion, a
motion to approve this appeal was made by R. Farrar and seconded by G. Camp — under the
understanding that the appellant must be self-insured and other requirements to comply with TDI
requirements.
VII. Presentation: Texas Building Energy Code Updates—2015 IECC, Commercial Chapter 4
Presentation was given by Building Official, Gene Delauro.
