BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS
MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
JANUARY 24,2002

410 The meeting was called to order by Chairman,Bill Braselton,at 1:55 p.m. The next item of
business was roll call. Johnny Cotten,Dipak Desai and Jerry Garcia were absent. Mr. Gonzales asked to
be excused for his absence at the previous meeting. Motion was made by Mr. Dodson, seconded by Mr.
Skrobarcyzk and passed unanimously to excuse Mr. Gonzalez.
The next item of business was approval and/or correction of the minutes from the previous
meeting. Motion was made by Mr.Dodson, seconded by Mr. Skrobarcyzk and passed unanimously to
accept the minutes as corrected.
The next item of business was election of officers. Motion was made by Mr. Skrobarcyzk,
seconded by Mr. Dodson and passed unanimously to have Mr. Braselton remain as Chairman. Motion was
made by Mr. Braselton, seconded by Mr. Gonzalez and passed unanimously to table the election of the
Vice Chairman position until the next meeting.
The next item of business was possible action for a concurrence report for McKinnon Enterprises.
Motion was made by Mr.Dodson, seconded by Mr. Skrobarcyzk and passed unanimously to table the case
until the next hearing when all Board Members are present to rule on a decision.
The next item of business was the discussion of Pending,old,and/or new business items to be
placed on the future agenda. There were no items for discussion.

Motion was made by Mr. Skrobarcyzk, seconded by Mr. Dodson and passed unanimously to
adjourn the meeting. Meeting was adjourned at 2: 21 p.m.

The Regularly scheduled meeting of the BUILDING CODE BOARD OF APPEALS of the
City of Corpus Christi will be held on Thursday, January 24, 2002 1:30 p.m. in the
Committee Room located on the first floor of City Hall, 1201 Leopard, Corpus Christi, TX.
1. Call the meeting to order.
2. Roll call, review and act on absences from previous meetings.
3. Approval and/or correction of the minutes for the meeting of August 2001.
4. Welcome new board members.
5. Election of Chairperson and Vice Chairperson for 2002.

• Requesting a variance to the building code to eliminate the fire detection/evacuation
systems and to substitute a fire watch and a reduction in occupancy loading to a number
acceptable to the Building Official and the Fire Marshall. All other fire protection
requirements will be observed.
