regarding stairway protection.
Property Description: 3533 South Alameda,Corpus Christi, Texas.
Mr. Kendall stated that the permit was denied on the grounds that because of the location of the
stairway in question does not provide direct access to the exterior of the building and would allow other than
approved opening in the stair enclosure.
Mr. Rick Cantu, Wisznia Associates, explained the areas in question. He stated that this is a three
story building, guest rooms are located on the first floor and the top two floors will be leased out for doctor's
offices. He also stated that the building has a fire alarm system and is fully sprinkled.
After a brief discussion, motion by Mr. Braselton, second by Mr. Dodson,to grant the variance to
Section 1106.1.4 based on the fire alarm system and the doors along the corridors having closers. Motion
passed unanimously. (Mr. Fulton did not participate in the discussion or the vote on this appeal.)
