MINUTES A motion was made by Frank Hastings, and seconded by Shane Torno to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 24, 2011. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. IV. STAFF REPORT _ Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2009 -2011. V. OLD BUSINESS A motion was made by Frank Hastings, and seconded by Shane Torno to open the public hearing. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. Cases returning to the Board from the Regular Meeting of November 18, 2011 1. 1009 Don Patricio Rd. residence (Don Patricio, Lot 50, 51 & 52 Block J) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 1009 Don Patricio Rd residence Don Patricio Lots 50 51 & 52 Block J and if repairs are started, an additional ninety (90) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City will file charges. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2. 1009 Don Patricio Rd. detached garage (Don Patricio, Lot 50, 51 & 52 Block J) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: n 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1009 Don Patricio Rd. -garage (Don Patricia, Lots 50, 51 & 52 Block If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Verbal report from staff on cases tabled from the Regular Meeting of March 24, 2011. a. 438 Linnet Ct- Repair permit has been obtained and repairs are ongoing. b. 2212 Mary St- Application approved by City's Demolition and Replacement Loan Program. VI. NEW BUSINESS 1. 421 Atlantic St. residence, (Del Mar, Lot 28 Block 28) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration. Building Standards Board Minutes May 26, 2011 Page 3 of 7 APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in'which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 421 Atlantic St. residence Del Mar Lot 28 Block 28 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2. 310 Bartlett Dr. residence, (Saxet Heights, NIE 2 Lot 18 all Lot 19 Block 2) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 310 Bartlett Dr. residence Saxet Height, N E 2 Lot 18 all Lot 19 Block 2) and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 3. 1762 Flour Bluff Dr. residence, (Billie Vann, Lot 1 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1762 Flour Bluff Dr. residence Billie Vann Lot 1 Block 1). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. APPEARING IN FAVOR: Robert Gonzalez APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 1 002 Fourteenth St. residence ( Bay View Lot 16 Block 7 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Board member Frank Hastings abstained. The motion passed with a majority vote. 5. 4106 King Richard Dr. residence, (Sherwood Pk 2 Lot 9 Block 10) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: David Gibson- attorney (BAC Home Loans) APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4106 King Richard Dr. residence Sherwood Pk 2 Lot 9 Block 10 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City will file charges. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 6. 4106 King Richard Dr. storage, (Sherwood Pk 2 Lot 9 Block 10) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. 9 0 Motion A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at. 4106 King Richard Dr. sforape (Sherwood Pk 2, .Lot 9 Block 10). A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 7. 6430 Lyons St. residence, (Airline, Lot 8 Block B) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: . 0 Motion A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 6430 Lyons St. residence Airline Lot 8 Block B). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 8. 1413 Main Dr. residence & storage bldg, (Hudson Acres Lot 40 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. 0 0 Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1413 Main Dr residence & storage bld Hudson Acres, Lot 40 Block 1). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 9. 810 Meuly St. residence, (Villa Green, Lot 5 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 10. 2746 Soledad St. residence, (Carver, Lot 9 Block 4) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require. demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Frank Barnes 0 Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2746 Soledad St. residence, (Carver, Lot 9 Block. If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 11. 2509 Stanton Dr. residence, (Grand View Mobile Home, Lot 19 Block 3) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 0 Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2509 Stanton Dr. residence, (Grand View Mobile Home,, Lot 19 Block If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 12. 9059 Stock Dr. residence, (San Juan - Clarkwood, Lot 40 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: Maria Morales, Cornelia Quintanilia APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Building Standards Board Minutes May 26, 2011 Page 7 of 7 Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to, accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 9059 Stock Dr. residence San Juan- Clarkwood Lot 40 Block 1). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. VII. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA Discussion regarding foreclosed properties following demolition getting them placed back on the tax roll. VIII. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to adjourn the hearing at 2:38 p.m. on May 26, 2011.
