CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Ted Stephens at 1:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall. 11. ROLL CALL Board Members Present Clarissa Beltran Frank Hastings Ramiro Munoz III Randal Salazar Ted Stephens Shane Torno Board Members Absent Michael A. McCauley A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, and seconded Frank Hastings to excuse the absences of Randal Salazar, Ted Stephens, and Shane Torno from the Regular Meeting of July 28,2011. A roll vote was taken and the motion passed. Staff Present Eddie Ortega, Director of Neighborhood Services Teena Houston, Code Enforcement Supervisor /Board Liaison Lisa Aguilar, Assistant City Attorney Holly Tyree, Assistant to the Director, (NSD) Andy Mantes, Code Enforcement Supervisor, (NSD) Ron Boyd, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Laura Rickerson, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Ed Salazar, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) III. MINUTES A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, and seconded by Frank Hastings to approve the minutes of-the- Regular Meeting of July 28, 2011. A roll call vote was taken and- the - motion ._. passed. IV. STAFF REPORT Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2009 -2011. Motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to open the public hearing. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. 406 Breckenridge Dr. residence, (Villa Gardens, Lot 13 Block 16)) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Ramiro Munoz I II to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 406 Breckenridge Dr residence (Villa Gardens Lot 13 Block 16 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2. 304 Knickerbocker St. residence & storage shed, (Gateway Park, Lot 1 Block 5) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration, APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 I$] Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 304 Knickerbocker St. residence & storage shed Gatewa Park, Lot 1 Block 5 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs, A roil call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 3. 438 Linnet Ct. residence, (Flour Bluff Estates, Tr E of Lot 4 Block G) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Willie Reta, Mike & Christine Hoss APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Ray Blaskowsky, Building Inspector Development Services -City of Corpus Christi Motion A motion was made by Ted Stephens seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 438 Linnet Ct. residence Flour Bluff Estates Tr E of Lot 4 Block G and if repairs are started, an additional one hundred twenty (120) days be allowed to complete the repairs. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 4. 1205 Nagle St. residence, (Gateway Park Lot 23 Block 8) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: C C Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran seconded by Frank Hastings to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 1205 Nagle St. residence ( Gateway Park Lot 23 Block 8 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 5. 3417 Wellington Dr. residence, (Westgate Hts, Lot 34 Block 7) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION 0 Motion; A motion was made by Ted Stephens seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 3417 Wellington Dr. residence (W estgate Hts Lot 34 Block 7 and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA Discussion of duties and responsibilities of the Board. VII. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Ted Stephens to adjourn the hearing at 2:30 p.m. on November 17, 2011.
