MINUTES A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz III, and seconded by Randal Salazar to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 22, 2012. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. IV. STAFF REPORT Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2010- present. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. 3817 Bertram St residential, (Temple, Lot 17 Block 5) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3718 Bertram St. residence (Temple, Lot 17 Block 5). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 2. 4621 Branscomb Dr. residential, (Parkdale Village, Lot 22 Block 5) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz seconded by Randal Salazar to amend staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed forty -five (45) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4621 Branscomb Dr. residence, (Parkdale Village Lot 22 Block 5) and if repairs are started, an additional ninety (90) days be allowed to complete the repairs. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 3. 2222 Crews St. residence, (Segrest, Lot 12 Block 19 & POR OF ALLEY) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION [2] Motion A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz III, seconded by Michael A. McCauley to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2222 Crews St. residence (Segrest, Lot 12 Block 19 & POR OF ALLEY). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 4. 4901 Dody St. residence, (Nanjean Park, Lot 15 Block 4) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION Linda Rosales Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 4901 Dody St. residence (Nanjean Park, Lot 15 Block 4). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 5. 934 Erwin Ave. residence & accessory bldg, (Driscoll Village Lot 10 Block 2) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 934 Erwin Ave. residence & accessory bldg. (Driscoll Village, Lot 10 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. P] 6. 909 Lexington Ave. residence, (The Highlands, Lot 3 Block 3) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz, seconded by Michael McCauley to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 909 Lexington Ave. residence (The Highlands Lot 3 Block 3). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 7. 508 S. Nineteenth St. residence, (Jasmin, Lot 16) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 508 S. Nineteenth St. residence (Jasmin, Lot 16). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 8. 1714 Palm Dr. residence, (Nueces Bay Hts, Lots 15 -16 Block 6) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 [4] APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1714 Palm Dr. residence (Nueces Bay Hts Lots 15 -16, Block 6). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 9. 1903 Peabody Ave. residence, (Hillcrest E80x75' of Lots 1 thru 3 Block 28) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION Motion A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz, seconded by Michael McCauley to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1903 Peabody Ave. residence (Hillcrest E80x75' of Lots 1 thru 3 Block 28) the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 10. 206 Seventeenth St. residence, (Home Place, Lot 20 Block 2) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Ramiro Munoz to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 206 Seventeenth St. residence (Home Place, Lot 20 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz, seconded by Michael McCauley to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 206 -1/2 Seventeenth St. residence (Home Place, Lot 19 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 12. 1322 Stillman Ave. residence, (Hillcrest Lots 13 -14, Block 22) STAFF RECOMMENDATION To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: APPEARING IN OPPOSITION I Motion A motion was made by Michael McCauley, seconded by Randal Salazar to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1322 Stillman Ave. residence (Hillcrest Lots 13 -14, Block 22). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA Discuss and possible action to appoint a new chairman. VII. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Randal Salazar to adjourn the hearing at 2:20 p.m. on May 24, 2012.
