CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Shane Torno at 1:35 p.m. in the Council
Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.

A motion was made by Peggy Mettlen, and seconded by Ramiro Munoz to excuse
the absences of Michael McCauley and Shane Torno from the Regular Meeting of
July 26, 2012.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Shane Torno and seconded by Michael McCauley to
approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 26, 2012. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases
for 2011- present.
Motion was made by Shawn Bodine seconded by Michael McCauley to open the
public hearing. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed.
V. NEW BUSINESS
1. 2822 Ada St residential, (Harlem Park, Lot 18 Block 3)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Juana Gonzalez
Motion A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz, seconded by Shawn Bodine to
amend staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner is ordered to secure the property within fourteen (14) days from
the date of the hearing and be allowed to sell property within forty five (45)
days. If property is not sold the owner is still required to obtain proper permits
and complete the repairs within the forty five days to the structure(s) located at
2822 Ada St. residence (Harlem Park, Lot 18 Block 3). If the repairs are not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Board
member Peggy Mettlen opposed. The motion passed with a majority vote.
2. 2750 Auther St. residential, (Village Park Lot 4 Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of
deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Ramiro Munoz seconded by Michael McCauly
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2750 Auther
St. residence (Village Park, Lot 4 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
3. 207 Edwards St. residence & accessory bldg, (Southmoreland, Lot 10 Block 17)

McCauley to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 207
Edwards St. residence & accessory (Southmoreland Lot 10 Block 17). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
4. 2425 Elizabeth St. residence, (Tracy, Lot 6 Block 3)

accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according

which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete
the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2425 Elizabeth St. residence (Tracy,
Lot 6 Block 3). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
5. 2354 Howard St. residence & accessory bldg, (Loma Alta Lot E 25' of lot 26 Block 1)

6. 2721 Johanna St. residence & accessory bldg, (Lexington, Lot 24 Block 2)

permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2721 Johanna
St. residence & accessory structure (Lexington Lot 24 Block 2). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
7. 1133 Retama Ave. residence, (Grace Hts, Lot 1 Block 1)

permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1133 Retama
Ave. residence (Grace Hts, Lot 1 Block 1). If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
8. 1539 Seventeenth (17 St. residence, (Bay Terrace #2, Lots 12 -13 Block 1502)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

Motion A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Michael McCauley
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13 -26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1539
Seventeenth (17 St. residence (Bay Terrace #2 Lots 12 -13, Block 1502).
If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, and seconded by Shane Torno
to accept Ramiro Munoz as chairperson. A roll call vote was taken and the
motion passed. Ramiro Munoz abstained.
VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Shawn Bodine to adjourn the
hearing at 2:40 p.m. on November 15, 2012.
