I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Shane Torno at 1:37 p.m. in the Council
Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Shane Torno and seconded by Shawn Bodine to approve the
minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 15, 2012. A roll call vote was taken
and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases
for 2011-present. Motion was made by Shawn Bodine seconded by Clarissa Beltran
to open the public hearing. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed.
V. NEW BUSINESS
1. 122 N. Bluntzer St residential, (Los Angeles Hills, Lot 15 Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Peggy Mettlen
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 122 N.
Bluntzer St. residence (Los Angeles Hills, Lot 15 Block 2). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
2. 2211 Coleman Ave. residential, (Summit Addn, Lots 3, 4, 5, & 6 Block 7)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of
deterioration.
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: : A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
start repairs to the structure(s) located at 2211 Coleman Ave residence,
(Summit Addn, Lot 3, 4, 5, & 6 Block 7) and if repairs are started, an additional
sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and passed unanimously
3. 705 Elesa St. residence (Seikel, Lots 14 & 15 Block 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of
deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)

according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 705 Elesa St.
residence (Seikel Lot 14 & 15 Block 5). If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
4. 1427 aka 1423 Fifteenth (15th) St. residence & accessory bldg, (Bay Terrace 2,
Lots 18-21 Block 1301)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran seconded by Peggy Mettlen to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete
the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1427 aka 1423 Fifteenth (15th) St.
residence & accessory bldq (Bay Terrace 2, Lots 18-21 Block 1301). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
5. 2733 Guadalupe St. residence (Carver Lot 21 Block 3)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the
demolition of the structure(s) located at 2733 Guadalupe St. residence (Carver, Lot
21 Block 3). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City
is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
6. 1224 Kennedy Ave. residence & accessory bldg, (The Highlands , S/2 of Lot 11 & all
of Lt 12 (aka Tr B) Block 3
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Angela Torres
Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Shawn Bodine to
table 1224 Kennedy Ave. residence & accessory structure (The Highlands,
S/2 of Lot 11 & all Lt 12 (aka Tr B) Block 3) to the next regular meeting due to
the property is under contract for sale. The documents will be presented by the
company pursuing of purchasing property. A roll call vote was taken and the
motion passed unanimously.
7. 10226 Kingsbury St. residence, (Highway Village 3, Lot 10-A Block 13)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Clarissa Beltran
to amend staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 10226
Kingsbury St. residence (Highway Village 3, Lot 10-A Block 13). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
8. 626 Meuly St. residence, (Villa Green, S27.92' of Lot 15 Block 1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to
table 626 Meuly St. residence (Villa Green, S27.92' Lot 15 Block 1) to give
the property owner time to present a prospective buyer with new contract for sale
at the next regular meeting. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
9. 1315 Morris St. residence, (Morris and Mitchell, Lot 6 Block 11)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Peggy Mettlen
to amend staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1315 Morris
St. residence (Morris and Mitchell, Lot 6 Block 11). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
10. 233 Richard St. residence (Southmoreland Lot 4 Block 14)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Shawn Bodine to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the
demolition of the structure(s) located at 233 Richard St. residence (Southmoreland,
Lot 4 Block 14). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
11. 1922 Van Loan Ave. residence & accessory bldg. (Hillcrest, Lot 13-14 Block 13)

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent
of deterioration.

Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Shawn Bodine to
table 1922 Van Loan Ave. residence & accessory structure (Hillcrest, Lot
13-14 Block 13) to the next regular meeting. Legal Department will initiate
research on property to determine if property owner is eligible to apply for
demolition grant. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to submit
recommendations to City Council for re-appointment of board members Clarissa
Beltran and Shane Torno. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to adjourn the
hearing at 3:25 p.m. on February 28, 2013.
