CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Shane Torno at 1:34 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall. II. ROLL CALL Board Members Present Clarissa Beltran Shawn Bodine Peggy E. Mettlen Shane Torno Board Members Absent Randal Salazar A motion was made by Shane Torno, and seconded by Clarissa Beltran to excuse the absence of Shawn Bodine from the Regular Meeting on January 23, 2014. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. Staff Present Teena Houston, Code Enforcement Supervisor/Board Liaison, (NSD) Deborah Brown, Assistant City Attorney Laura Rickerson, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Diana T. Garza, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Cindy Cortez, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) III. MINUTES A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, and seconded by Peggy Mettlen to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 23, 2014. In the absence of Shawn Bodine a clerical error occurred which named him as seconding the motion to accept the minutes and making a motion on item #7. The correct name should have been Shane Torno. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed with the accepted corrections on page 1 and page 4 of the minutes. IV. STAFF REPORT Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2012 to present. 1 V. NEW BUSINESS 1. 4650 Jose Dr. residence (La Pascua, Lot 1 Block 6) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 4650 Jose. residence, (La Pascua, Lot 1 Block 6). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2. 3601 Lake Champagne Ct. residence, (The Lakes Northwest#1, Lot 22 Block 8) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3601 Lake Champagne. residence, (The Lakes Northwest #1, Lot 22 Block 8). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 3. 2617 Mc Cain Dr. residence, (Highway Village 2, Lot 11 & S 30ft of Lt 12, Block 7) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 2 Motion: A motion was made by Peggy Mettlen, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2617 Mc Cain Dr. residence, (Highway Village 2, Lot 11 & S 30ft of Lt 12 Block 7). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 4. 1910 Palm Dr. residence, (Nueces Bay Heights, Lot 13 Block 8) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1910 Palm Dr. residence, (Nueces Bay Heights, Lot 13 Block 8). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 5. 3026 Sabinas St. residence & accessory bldg., (El Rey, Lot 9 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3026 Sabinas St. residence & accessory structure, (El Rev, Lot 9 Block 1). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 3 6. 10009 Shane Dr. residence, (Highway Village #3 Lot 18 Block 2R) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 10009 Shane Dr. residence, (Highway Village #3, Lot 18 Block 2R). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA VII. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Shawn Bodine to adjourn the hearing at 2:10 p.m. on March 27, 2014. Tracey K.
