CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Shane Torno at 1:33 p.m. in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall. II. ROLL CALL Board Members Present Clarissa Beltran Shawn Bodine Peggy E. Mettlen Randal Salazar Shane Torno Staff Present Teena Houston, Code Enforcement Supervisor/Board Liaison, (NSD) Deborah Brown, Assistant City Attorney Diana T. Garza, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Ronald Arispe, Code Enforcement Officer, (NSD) Emily Perez, Senior Police Officer, (CCPD) III. MINUTES A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, and seconded by Peggy Mettlen to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 27, 2014. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. IV. STAFF REPORT Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2013 to present. V. NEW BUSINESS 1. 918 Dolores St. residence and accessory bldg. (Kosar Lot 17, Block 2) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 1 Motion: A motion was made by Shawn Bodine, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 918 Dolores St. residence and accessory bog. Mosar, Lot 17 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2. 812 Francesca St. residence, (San Pedro, Lot 61 Block 3) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration. APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Clarissa Beltran, seconded by Shane Torno to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 812 Francesca St. residence (San Pedro, Lot 61 Block 3). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 3. 310 Longview West St. residence, (Westgate Hts, Lot 9 Block 5) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Rene and Carol Garcia APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno seconded by Peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed ninety (90) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 310 Longview West St. residence, (Westgate Hts, Lot 9 Block 5) and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 2 4. 11030 Mayfield Dr. residence, (Mayfield Add, Lot 14 Block 1) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Shawn Bodine to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 11030 Mayfield Dr. residence, (Mayfield, Lot 14 Block 1) and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously. 5. 201 Torreon St. residence, (Coronado Lot 14 Block 12) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Peggy Mettlen to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 201 Torreon St. residence, (Coronado, Lot 14 Block 12). If the demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 6. 437 Van Cleve Dr. residence, (Villa Gardens, Lot 4 Block 13) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Emma Alaniz 3 Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Clarissa Beltran to table 437 Van Cleve Dr. residence, (Villa Gardens, Lot 4 Block 13) to the next regular meeting to allow time for the granddaughter of the owner to file proper deed with the courthouse in order for property to be sold to interested buyer. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. VI. IDENTYIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA VII. ADJOURNMENT A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Shawn Bodine to adjourn the hearing at 2:45 p.m. on May 22, 2014. Tracey K.
