I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Matthew Ezell at 1:31 P.M. in the Council Chambers on
the first floor of City Hall.

IV. MINUTES
A motion was made by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Dante C. Miller to approve the
minutes and amend the name of the person who called the meeting to order of the Regular
Meeting of March 31, 2016 to Matthew Ezell instead of Michael Ezell. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed unanimously. Motion to approve the amended minutes for the
Regular Meeting held on January 28, 2016 by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Lee R.
Hassman.A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
V. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for discussion and information regarding cases for 2015
to present. Board members were updated on cases at 625 Gordon St. and 5029 Williams Dr.
The case for 625 Gordon St is being appealed to District Court. Staff will proceed with the
order given by Building Starndards Board members for the case at 5029 Williams.
V1. PUBLIC COMMENT
A motion was made by Matthew Ezell to open the floor for public comment. As there was
no response, Matthew Ezell closed the public comment.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
1. 1317 ESPINOSA ST., Demolition (55%) &Accessory(52%)(LA GLORIA BLK 1 LOT 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Ester Martinez,Jose Martinez
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Gary K. Adams to accept the
staff recommendation to vacate the old recommendation of the structure(s) located at
1317 ESPINOSA ST., (LA GLORIA BLK 1 LOT 5).This case has been closed due to new
owner, if new owner does not complete repairs a new case will be started. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 2710 Elizabeth St., Repairs(48%) &Accessory(43%)(BALDWIN PARK BLK 7 LOT 31)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To make Repairs to the residence

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Matthew Ezell and seconded by Dante C. Miller to reject the
staff recommendation to make repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-22(H)
(1) (a) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner will be
allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the repairs of the
structure(s) located at 2710 Elizabeth St., (BALDWIN PARK BLK7 LOT 31).The board
ordered to amend the original order to provide 90 days to repair the structure and to
determine the new owner. If the repairs are not started and completed as required by
June 30, 2016 a new case will be started. A roll call vote was taken and passed
unanimously.
3. 2042 Yale St., Residence/Accessory, Demolition (57%) (MIDWAY BLK 2 LOT 11
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of
deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Lee R. Hassman and seconded by Dante C. Miller to accept the
staff recommendation to vacate the original order to demolish the structure(s) made on
January 28, 2016 according to Section 13-22(H)(1)(c) of the Corpus Christi Property
Maintenance Code in which the owner will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2042 Yale St.,
Residence and Accessory structure(MIDWAYBLK2 LOT 1). A second motion was made
by Lee R. Hassman and seconded by Dante C. Miller to give an additional 30 days to
complete repairs, if repairs are not completed the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and passed unanimously on both motions.
VIII. New Business
1. 1510 Ramirez St., Demolition (62%)(Colonia Mexicana LTS 12 THRU 14 BILK NW/4 D)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Alfonso Rodriguez-owner of Dependable Tax Service
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Gary K. Adams to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 1510 Ramirez St.,(Colonia Mexicana LTS 12 THRU 14 BILK
NW/4 D). It was determined that all owners have been notified and documentation was
provided,therefore, a motion was made in today's hearing and the owner was given 60
days to obtain the permit and demolish the structure. If the demolition is not started
and completed as required,then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was
taken and passed unanimously.
2. 2217 Nogales St., Demolition (54%) (SAN DEIGO UNIT NO 1 LT 2 BK 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Pull this case from the hearing to notify all heirs
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
No motion necessary as this case was pulled from today's hearing.
3. 2510 Nimitz St., Demolition (55%)(LA ARBOLEDA LT 5 EXC E2.41' BK 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Mark Valdez
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Dante C. Miller and seconded by Craig C. Loving to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 2510 Nimitz St.,(LA ARBOLEDA LT 5 EXC E2.41' BK 2)
If the demolition is not started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
4. 638 Robert Dr., Demolition of Detached Accessory Structure(54%)(ALAMEDA PARK LT
13BLK5
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Larry Sain
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Dante C. Miller to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the detached structure according to
Section 13-22(H)(1)(c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the
owner will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the
demolition of the structure(s) located at 638 Robert Dr.,(ALAMEDA PARK LT 13 BILK 5).
If the demolition is not started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
5. 804 Mc Bride Ln., Demolition Residence(54%) &Accessory(55%)(LAIRD S/D LT 1-B)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

Motion:
A motion was made by Craig S. Loving and seconded by Dante C. Miller to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 804 Mc Bride Ln.,(LAIRD S/D LT 1-B). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
6. 808 Mc Bride Ln., Demolition Residence(54%) &Accessory(55%)(LAIRD S/D LT 1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

Motion:
A motion was made by Joel De la Garza and seconded by Craig S. Loving to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 808 Mc Bride Ln.,(LAIRD S/D LT 1). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
7. 2614 Halsey St., Demolition Residence(54%) &Accessory(54%)(LA ARBOLEDA LT 7 BK 8)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

Motion:
A motion was made by Lee R. Hassman and seconded by Craig S. Loving to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 2614 Halsey St., (LA ARBOLEDA LT 7 BK 8) if the demolition is
not started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
8. 4769 Sierra Blanca Blvd., Demolition Residence(52%) (BRECKENRIDGE UNIT 1 LT 36-A BLK
1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

Motion:
A motion was made by Lee R. Hassman and seconded by Joel De La Garza to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 4769 Sierra Blanca Blvd.,(BRECKENRIDGE UNIT 1 LT 36-A BLK 1)
if the demolition is not started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
9. 2510 Viola Ave., Demolition Residence(52%)(FERRELL BLK 1 LOT 32)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion:
A motion was made by Joel De La Garza and seconded by Gary K. Adams to accept the
staff recommendation and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section
13-22(H) (1) (c) of the Corpus Christi Property Maintenance Code in which the owner
will be allowed thirty(30) days to obtain proper permits and complete the demolition of
the structure(s) located at 2510 Viola Ave., (FERRELL BLK 1 LOT 32)if the demolition is not
started and completed as required,then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.
IX. IDENTIFYING ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
None at this time
X. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Matthew Ezell to adjourn the hearing at 3:36 P.M. on May 26,
2016.
