MINUTES OF THE BUILDING STANDARDS BOARD
OF THE CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, TEXAS

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Beverly Bacak, at 1:32 p.m. in the Council
Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.
The meeting was opened by informing those that the appropriate notices have been sent
to the property owners and notices published in the newspaper. A visual presentation
showing the condition of each property was conducted by staff The following are
summaries of action taken by the Board.

2033 Briarwood Main Structure&Attached Garage Glen Arbor,Block 1,Lot 3
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To allow demolition due to the extent of
deterioration

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza, seconded by Ms. Guerra and passed
unanimously to accept staff recommendation and allow demolition to the structures
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances
allowing thirty(30) days to obtain a permit and thirty(30) days to complete the
demolition of the property located at 2033 Briarwood, Glen Arbor, Block 1,Lot 3. If
demolition is not started and completed as required, the city be authorized to demolish.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza seconded by Ms. Guerra and passed
unanimously to accept staff recommendation and allow repairs to the structures according.
to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty
(30) days to obtain a permit and sixty (60) days to complete the repairs to City Code
standards for the property located at 2701 Countiss, Highway Village 2, Lot 16, Block
9. If repairs are not started and completed as required, the City be authorized to
demolish.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To allow repairs due to the extent of deterioration

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Spiker, seconded by Mr. McGuire and passed
unanimously to accept staff recommendation and allow repairs to the structures according
to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty
(30) days to obtain a permit and sixty (60) days to complete the repairs to City Code
standards for the property located at 5226 Curtis Clark, Gardendale 2, Lot 31,Block 3.
If repairs are not started and completed as required,the City be authorized to demolish.

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza, seconded by Ms. Guerra and passed
unanimously to accept staff recommendation and allow repairs to the structure according
to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty
(30) days to obtain a permit and sixty (60) days to complete the repairs to City.Code
standards for the property located at 6730 Everhart, Club Estates Unit 1,Lot 28,Block
11. If repairs are not started and completed as required, the City be authorized to
demolish.

allowing thirty(30) days to obtain a permit and thirty(30) days to complete the
demolition of the property located at 2347 Howard,Loma Alta,Block 2,Lot 24. If
demolition is not started and completed as required, the city be authorized to demolish.

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza, seconded by Mr. Spiker and passed
unanimously to amend the staff recommendation and allow repairs to the structures
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus. Christi Code of Ordinances
allowing sixty(60) days to obtain a permit, Fourteen (14) days to secure the building and
reappear before the Board at the August 28, 2003 hearing with a progress report for the
property located at 4513 Nicholson. If repairs are not started and completed as required,
the City be authorized to demolish.

allowing thirty(30)days to obtain a permit and thirty(30) days to complete the
demolition of the property located at 1704 Peabody,Hillcrest,Block 35,Lots 3 & 4. If

sixty(60) days to complete the repairs to city code standards of the property located at
8202 Vetters, Perry Place 2,Lot 6,Block 5. If repairs are not started and completed as
required, the city be authorized to demolish

unanimously to to accept the staff recommendation and allow demolition to the structures

allowing thirty(30) days to obtain a permit and thirty(30) days to complete the
demolition of the property located at 736 Virginia,Patrick Gardens, Lot 30D. If
demolition is not started and completed as required, the city be authorized to demolish.

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza, seconded by Ms. Guerra and passed
unanimously to reverse the board decision of November 14, 2002 and allow repairs to the
structure according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and three hundred sixty five(365)
days to complete the repairs to city code standards of the property located at 2608 aka
2606 Coleman, Summit,Lots 19 & 20,Block 3 and allow demolition to the detached
restroom according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances allowing thirty(30) days to obtain a permit and sixty(60) days to complete
the demolition of the property located at 2606 Coleman, Summit,Lots 19 &20,Block
3. If repairs and demolition is not started and completed as required,the city be
authorized to demolish.

Motion: Motion was made by Mr. Garza, seconded by Mr. Spiker and passed
unanimously to reverse the board decision of November 14, 2002 and allow repairs to the
structure according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances allowing sixty (60) days to obtain a permit and fourteen(14) days to secure
the structures of the property located at 8201 S Padre Island Dr,Peary Place 1,Lot 30,
Block A, and allow demolition to the attached storage room according to Section 13-26
(G), (1), (c) of the Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty(30) days to obtain
a permit and sixty(60) days to complete the demolition of the property located at 8201 S.
Padre Island Dr., Peary Place 1,Lot 30, Block A. If demolition is not started and
completed as required,the city be authorized to demolish.
