CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman McGuire at 1:33 p.m. in the Council Chambers, on the first floor of City Hall. II. ROLL CALL Board Members Present Chairman William McGuire, David Amori, Renee Carter, Frank Hastings,.Jesus J. Jimenez, John Smith, Gregory Spivey Staff Present George Oresco, Zoning & Code Enforcement Administrator, Teena Houston, Sr. Code Enforcement Officer, Reagan L. Dear, Administrative Assistant, Jon Perez, Code Enforcement Officer, and Elizabeth Hundley, Assistant City Attorney • III. MINUTES A. A motion was made by John Smith and seconded by Gregory Spivey to approve the minutes of the Building Standards Board Hearing of August 25, 2005. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. B. A motion was made by John Smith and seconded by Frank Hastings to approve the minutes of the Building Standards Board Workshop of December 8, 2005. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. IV. DISCUSS FREQUENCY OF MEETINGS HELD BY THE BUILDING STANDARDS BOARD The frequency of hearings was discussed, and the Board respectfully requested an agenda item for action to be taken at the next Building Standards Board Hearing. V. UNFINISHED BUSINESS The Chairman opened the meeting to public hearing. A. Cases returning to the Board from the Regular Meeting of August 25, 2005 1. 3001 Greenwood (El Rey, Lot SE 67.46', Block 16) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the SCANNED extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 ' Minutes 2 December 15, 2005 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings., seconded by John Smith, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3001 Greenwood (El Rey, Lot SE 67.46', Block 16). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. NOTE: For detailed information on testimony, refer to the tape retained on file in the Zoning & Code Enforcement/Neighborhood Services Department. 2. 4754 Molina (Colonia Hidalgo, Lot 1-C, Block 6) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Gregory Spivey, seconded by Jesus Jimenez, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 4754 Molina (Colonia Hidalgo, Lot 1-C, Block 6). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by John Smith, seconded by Renee Carter, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and sixty (60) days to complete the repairs of the structure(s) located at 1057 Peerman (Pope Place, Lot 1, Block 13). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Alameda (Bluff, Lot 11, Block 50) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Gregory Spivey, seconded by Jesus Jimenez, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1008 N. Alameda (Bluff, Lot 11, Block 50). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A motion was made by Gregory Spivey, seconded by Renee Carter, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the • structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2512 Bolivar, (Casa Blanca, Lot 18, Block 7). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Broadway ( N Broadway, Lot 1, Block 2B). A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, a second to the motion was not made, to allow 45 days to obtain the necessary permits and complete demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances located at 1811 W. Broadway (N Broadway, Lot 1, Block 2B). The motion did not pass. A roll call vote was taken and, with all in favor, the motion passed unanimously. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.
