I. CALL TO ORDER �f o�g
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gregory Spivey at 1:01 p.m. in the
Council Chambers, on the first floor of City Hall.
II. ROLL CALL

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, and seconded by Frank
Hastings, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of July 27, 2006. A roll
call vote was taken and the motion passed.
IV. OLD BUSINESS
A. Case returning to the Board from the Regular Meeting of September 16,
2004.
1. 405 Indiana Avenue Residence(Del Monte, Lot 16, Block 3)

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by
Ted Stephens, to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-
26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain a permit and begin repairs
to the structure(s) located at 405 Indiana Avenue (Del Monte, Lot 16,
Block3) and if repairs are started, an additional ninety (90) days be
allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed
as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed unanimously.
V. NEW BUSINESS
A. New cases presented to the Board for discussion and possible action.
1. 5321 Agnes Street Front/Rear Portion (Roblex Industrial Area, Lots 22
through 25, Block 5).
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Front Portion - To grant repairs
due to the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by
Renee Carter, to amend staff recommendations and require demolition of
the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of
Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty
(30) days to obtain a permit and ninety (90) days to complete the
• demolition of the structure(s) located at 5321 Agnes Street (Roblex
Industrial Area, Lots 22 through 25, Block 5). If demolition is not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
2. 1433 Annapolis Street Residence (Belaire Park, Unit 2, Lot 21,
Block 1)

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by John Smith,
to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a)
of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be
allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and start repairs to the
structure(s) located at 1433 Annapolis Street (Belaire Park, Unit 2, Lot 21,
Block 1) and if repairs are started, an additional thirty (30) days be allowed
to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as
required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed unanimously.
3. 814 Craig Street Residence (Bay View, Lot 13; Block 4)

Motion: A motion was made by John Smith, seconded by Frank Hastings,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code
of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at
814 Craig Street (Bay View, Lot 13, Block 4). If demolition is not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of
Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the'
proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the
structure(s) located at 1002 15th Street (Bay View#3, Lot 16, Block 1). If
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
5. 2006 Howard Street Residence (Wilburn, Lot.21, Block 1)

Motion: A motion was made by John Smith, seconded by Chairman
Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition
to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of
Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the
proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the
structure(s) located at 2006 Howard Street (Wilburn, Lot 21, Block 1). If
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
6. 2808 Hulbirt Street Detached Garage (Hillcrest, W50' of Lots 1 through
5, Block 3)

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by
Renee Carter, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to.

Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing.thirty (30) days to obtain the
proper permits and sixty (60) days to complete the demolition of the
structure(s) located at\.1609 Lexington Avenue (Citizens, Lot 20, Block 1),
If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and.the motion passed
unanimously.
8. 2513 Mary Street Residence and Detached Storage (Summit Addition,
Lots 7 & 8, Block 1)

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by
John Smith, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus
Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the proper;
permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s)
located at 245 Osage Street (Meadow Park, Lot 1, Block 15). If demolition
is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by John Smith,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code
of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at ;
111 Parr Street (Los Angeles Hills, Lots 84 & 85, Block 2). If demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
11. 2734 Sabinas Street Residence (La Reina, Lot 3, Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent
of deterioration

Motion: No motion was made due to owner compliance before this "
hearing and therefore satisfied staff recommendation.

extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by John Smith, seconded by Chairman
Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition
to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of
Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances allowing thirty (30) days to obtain the
proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the
structure(s) located at 715 25th Street (Juarez, Lot 58 & N10' of lot 59, j
Block 1). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion;
passed unanimously.
13. 209 Virginia Avenue Residence and Detached Garage (Meadow Park,
Lot 10, Block 12)

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by
Frank Hastings, to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus
Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days
to obtain the proper permits and begin repairs to the structure(s) located at
209 Virginia Avenue (Meadow Park, Lot 10, Block 12), and if repairs are
started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If
repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.
VI. BOARD REPORT
No Board Report was given during this meeting.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to come before the Building Standards Board,
Chairman Gregory Spivey adjourned the Hearing at 2:01 p.m. on September 28,
2006.
