CALL TO ORDER The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gregory Spivey at 1:02 p.m. in the Council Chambers, on the first floor of City Hall. II. MINUTES A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, and seconded by Frank Hastings, to approve the Minutes of the Regular Meeting of November 16, 2006. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed. IV. STAFF REPORT Staff Report presented to the Board for their information regarding the Active Building Cases of 2006. No action was taken. V. NEW BUSINESS A. New cases presented to the Board for discussion and possible action. 1. 1008 S. Brownlee Blvd. Residence (Bay View#2, Lot 14, Block 6) SCANNED Building Standards Bo -= Minutes - January 25, 2007 Page 2 of 8 STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Ted Stephens, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 1008 S. Brownlee. Blvd. Residence (Bay View #2, Lot 14, Block 6). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 2. 3032 Elgin Street Residence (El Rey Addition, Lot 8, Block 6) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Chairman Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3032 Elgin Street Residence (El Rey Addition, Lot 8, Block 6). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 3. 1324 Hancock Avenue Residence- 2 Bldgs. (Bay Terrace, Lots 24 thru 26, Block 10) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Ronnie Canales Building Standards Bo, _'_.dinutes January 25,.2007 Page 3of8 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Chairman Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain the.proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 1324 Hancock Avenue Residence- 2 Bldgs. (Bay Terrace, Lots 24 thru 26, Block 10). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A rollcall vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 4. 2919 Hulbirt Street Detached Garage (Nueces Bay Hts, Lots 23 & 24, Block 19) - STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of the deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: ' 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Ted Stephens, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 2919 Hulbirt Street Detached Garage (Nueces Bay Hts, Lots 23 & 24, Block 19). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Chairman Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), .(1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1632 Mary Street Residence (Chamberlin's, S43' of Lots 29 thru 32, Block 5). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 6. 2015 Peabody Avenue Residence (Hillcrest, Lots 7 thru 9 & S/2 of Lot 10, Block 29) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Frank Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13=26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2015 Peabody Avenue Residence (Hillcrest, Lots 7 thru 9 & S/2 of Lot 10, Block 29). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 7. 925-927 S. Storage=To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0 APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the residence according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and if repairs are started an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 513 le Street Residence/Detached Storage (Chamberlin's, Lots 8 & 9, Block 17). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the detached storage according to Section -13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 513 14th Street . Residence/Detached Storage (Chamberlin's, Lots 8 & 9, Block 17). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. (Home Place, Lot 3, Block 18) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Diana Cruz & Nick Garza APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 • Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Chairman Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional ninety (90) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 710 16t Street Residence/Apts.- 3 Bldgs. (Home Place, Lot 3, Block 18). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. (Home Place, Lot 4, Block 18) -, Building Standards Bu Minutes January 25, 2007 Page7of8 STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Nancy Ramirez Paula & Alfredo Martinez APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Chairman Gregory Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to each structure located at 714 16t Street Residence/Apts.- 3 Bldqs. (Home Place, Lot 4, Block 18). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. 12. 1118 16th Street Detached Residential Structure (Bay View#3, Lot 12, Block 5) STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to the extent of deterioration APPEARING IN FAVOR: Rudy Cuellar APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Frank Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition to the structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and thirty (30) days to complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1118 16th Street Detached Residential Structure (Bay View #3, Lot 12, Block 5). If demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. Joann Presley APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0 Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings,_ to accept staff recommendations and allow repairs to the residence according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs to the structure(s) located at 426 Webb Street Residence (Flour Bluff Estates # 2, E/2 of Lot 19, Block 9). If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously. V. BOARD REPORT No Board Report was given during this meeting. VI.
