I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Gregory Spivey at 1:04 p.m. in
the Council Chambers, on the first floor of City Hall.
II. ROLL CALL
Board Members Present

The absence of Vice-Chairman Jesus Jimenez of the Regular Meeting of
January 31, 2008 was considered and excused.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, and seconded by.Vice-
Chairman Jesus Jimenez to approve the Minutes as amended of the Regular
Meeting of January 31, 2008. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for their information regarding the Active
Building Cases for 2007-2008. Board member Ted Stephens complimented
staff on a very thorough presentation report. No action was taken.

V. NEW BUSINESS
A. New cases presented to the Board for discussion and possible action.
1. 2739 Auther St. residence, carport, & 2 storage sheds (Village Park, Lot 23
Block 3
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Chairman Gregory
Spivey, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits
and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2739 Auther St.
residence, carport, & 2 storage sheds (Village Park, Lot 23 Block 3). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
2. 339 N. Bluntzer St. commercial bldg. (Los Angeles Hills, Lot 11-12, Block 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Joe Medina
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Jesus
Jimenez, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 339 N. Bluntzer
St. commercial bldg. (Los Angeles Hills, Lot 11-12 Block 5). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey,- seconded by Frank
Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1006 Hancock
Ave. detached garage, (Shannon, Lot 12 Less w2ft all 13 Block 2). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
4. 1003-1/2 Main Dr. residence (Hudson Acres, N/2 of Lot 45 Exc 30 ft, Block 2)

the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Renee Carter to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits and complete
the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1003-1/2 Main Dr. residence, (Hudson
Acres, N/2 of Lot 45 Exc 30 ft, Block 2),If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed unanimously.
5. 1005 Main Dr. residence (Hudson Acres, S/2 of Lot 44 Exc 30 ft Block 2)

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Lisa
Huerta to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits
and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1005 Main Dr. residence,
(Hudson Acres, S/2 of Lot 44 Exc 30 ft, Block 2),If the demolition is not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
6. 1605 Main Dr. detached garage (Hudson Acres, Lot 20, Block 1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Yolanda & Nicolasa Villarreal
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Jesus
Jimenez to table this case to the next May 29, 2008 regular hearing. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
7. 925 Mc Donald St. residence (Flour Bluff Park, Lot 7, Block 12)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs
to the structure(s) located at 925 Mc Donald St. residence, (Flour Bluff Park, Lot
7, Block 12) and if repairs are started, an additional thirty (30) days be allowed to
complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the
City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.

8. 1001 Seventh (7th) St. detached accessory bldg (Bay Terrace , Lots 10-11
Block 6)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the
extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens,seconded by Chairman Gregory
Spivey to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper
permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 1001 Seventh (7th) St.
detached accessory bldg. (Bay Terrace, Lots 10-11, Block 6) and if repairs are
started, an additional thirty (30) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs
are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
9. 1321 Seventh (7th) St. residence, (Booty & Allen, Lot 17, Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to the
extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Rose Esquivel
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Jesus Jimenez, seconded by Ted Stephens to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which the
owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs to the
structure(s) located at 1321 Seventh-(7th) St. residence (Booty & Allen, Lot 17,
Block 2) and if repairs are started, an additional ninety (90) days be allowed to complete
the repairs.
Amendment to Motion: A second motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by
Chairman Gregory Spivey to amend the motion made by Jesus Jimenez to include the
statement, "If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized
to demolish."A roll call vote was taken on the amendment and the amendment to the initial
motion passed unanimously.
Motion as Amended: A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: Rose Esquivel

Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey , seconded by Ted
Stephens to accept staff recommendations and require_ demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1321 Seventh
(7th) detached garage, (Booty & Allen , Lot 17, Block 2),If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
10. 704 Sixteenth (16th) St. residence (Home Place, Lot 2, Block 18)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Ted
Stephens to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper
permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 704 Sixteenth (16th) St.
residence, (Home Place, Lot 2, Block 18) and if repairs are started, an additional
thirty (30) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.

11. 12461 Up River Rd. residence, 3 storage sheds (Griffin W R Bluebonnet
1.38 Acs out of Lot 1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Chairman Gregory
Spivey to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits
and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 12461 Up River Rd.
residence, (Griffin W R Bluebonnet 1.38 Acs out of Lot 1),If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and the following board members voted in favor of the motion:
Renee Carter, Frank Hastings, Lisa Huerta, Gregory Spivey, and Robert White.
The following board members voted in opposition of the motion: Jesus Jimenez and
Ted Stephens. The motion passed with a majority vote.
Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Chairman Gregory
Spivey to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper permits
and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 12461 Up River Rd. (3)
storage sheds (Griffin W R Bluebonnet 1.38 Acs out of Lot 1),If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll
call vote was taken and the following board members voted in favor of the motion:
Renee Carter, Frank Hastings, Lisa Huerta, Gregory Spivey, Ted Stephens, and
Robert White.
The following board member voted in opposition of the motion: Jesus Jimenez.
The motion passed with a majority vote.
VI. RECOMMENDATION ON TERMS EXPIRATIONS
A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Frank Hastings
to accept the boards recommendation to City Council for re-appointment of the
following board members: Renee Carter, Jesus Jimenez, and Gregory Spivey.
A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

V. BOARD REPORT
Discussion of repairs in progress at 530 S.Tancahua St. No action taken.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Chairman Gregory Spivey, seconded by Ted Stephens to
adjourn the hearing at 2:25 p.m. on March 27, 2008. A roll call vote was taken and
the motion passed unanimously.
