I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Jesus Jimenez at 1:05 p.m.
in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Robert White, and seconded by Lisa Huerta to approve
the minutes of the Regular Meeting of January 29, 2009.
A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for their information regarding the Active
Building Cases for 2005-2009.

Block 8)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Gerardo Rios
Motion: A motion was made by Gregory Perkes, seconded by Frank
Hastings to amend staff recommendations to allow repairs to the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(a) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
the proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located 1438
Nineteenth St., (residence) (Bay Terrace #2, S3' of Lot 49 all of 50 & 51
Block 8) and if repairs are started, an additional thirty (30) days be allowed
to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required,
then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the
motion passed unanimously.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. 4710 Franklin Dr. residence (Southside, Lot 23 Block 13)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings
to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G), (1), (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4710 Franklin
Dr, (Southside, Lot 23 Block 13) and if repairs are started, an additional
sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and passed unanimously.

2. 915 Gaviota St. detached garage (San Juan #3-Clarkwood, Lot 28 & 29 Block 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 915
Gaviota St. detached garage (San Juan #3, Lot 28 &29 Block 5). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
3. 4510 Kirkwood Dr. residence (Central Park Lots 34 Block 4)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens
to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4510 Kirkwood Dr. residence
(Central Park, Lot 34 Block 4) and if repairs are started, an additional thirty
(30) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and passed unanimously

to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according
to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4617 Odem Dr. residence
(Woodcrest Heights, Lot 15 Block 1) and if repairs are started, an
additional thirty (30) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously

to table this case to the September 24, 2009 regular hearing. A roll call vote

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Gregory Perkes
to accept and amend staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) with the exception
of the concrete slab. Owner be required to provide complete security from slab
and or walls that is existing between the East &West wings and remove all
debris. If demolition and security is not started and completed as required, then
the City is authorized to demolish located at 1502 Tartlon St (West Wing)
commercial(Copps, Lot 2 ). A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously.

to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)

Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 808 Twenty
Fifth St., residences (4-bld_gs) (Juarez, Lots 5, 6, & 7 Block 1). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed
unanimously

STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Robert White,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1150 York
Ave. detached garage (Arcadia, Lot 13 Block 6). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Robert White,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G)(1)(c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 1154 York
Ave. accessory bldg (Arcadia, Lot 14 Block 6). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
VI. IDENTIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens to table
items to the next regular meeting for discussion and possible action to adopt
board procedures and rules of conduct and to consider the option of becoming
a commission or remaining a board. A roll call vote was taken and passed
unanimously
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens to adjourn
the hearing at 4:30 p.m. on March 26, 2009. A roll call vote was taken and the
motion passed unanimously.
