I. CALL TO ORDER -
The meeting was called to order by Vice Chairman Jesus Jimenez at 1:30 p.m.
in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Ted Stephens, and seconded by Frank Hastings to
approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 28, 2009.
A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for their information regarding cases
for 2005-2009.

V. OLD BUSINESS
a. Staff requested to withdraw draft item of Board Commission status for
further review and management approval.
b. Staff requested to withdraw discussion of 1502 Tarlton St. until a resolution
is determined for the west wing due to pending appeal to City Council.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. 434 Airport Rd. accessory structure (Coronado, Lot 29 Block 1)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Gregory Perkes, seconded by Renee Carter,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 434 Airport
Rd. accessory structure (Coronado Lot 29 Block 1). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
2. 2502 Crews St. residence (Phillips, Lot 8 Block 3 C)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Annie Garcia
Motion: A motion was made by Jesus Jimenez, seconded by Renee Carter
to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed forty-five (45) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 2502 Crews St.
residence (Phillips, Lot 8 Block 3 C) and if repairs are started, an
additional one-hundred eighty (180) days be allowed to complete the repairs.
If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.

3. 1220 Elgin St. residence (La Paloma Lot 2 Block 4)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Hector De Pena Jr
Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, to amend staff recommendations and allow repair of the structure(s)
according to Section (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed forty-five (45) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 1220 Elgin St.
residence (La Paloma, Lot 2 Block 4) and if repairs are started, an
additional forty-five (45) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs
are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
4. 4621 Elvira Dr. residence (La Pascua 2, Lot 8 Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 4621
Elvira Dr. residence (La Pascua 2, Lot 8 Block 2): If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
5. 4621 Elvira Dr. detached garage (La Pascua 2, Lot 8 Block 2)

Perkes, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 4621
Elvira Dr. detached garage (La Pascua 2, Lot 8 Block 2). If the demolition
is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
6. 3350 Floyd St. residence (P A Cliffs Lots 56 thru 58 Block 2131 213D)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Mary Alice Aigner
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Gregory Perkes
to accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed sixty (60) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 3350 Floyd St.
residence (P A Cliffs, Lot 56 thru 58 Block 2131 213D) and if repairs are
started, an additional one-hundred eighty (180) days be allowed to complete
the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City
is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
7. 2805 Guadalupe St. residence (Carver, Lot 27 Block 3)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Jesus Jimenez, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, to amend staff recommendations and allow repair of the structure(s)
according to Section (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed forty-five (45) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 2805

Guadalupe St. residence (Carver, Lot 27 Block 3) and if repairs are
started, an additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If
repairs are not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized
to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
8. 3909 Laguna Shores Rd . commercial (Tyler, Lot 10 Block 8)
(Flour Bluff& Enc Frm Gdn Tract 9.605 ac out of lot 24 Sec 52)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Lee Ann Bishop
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed ninety (90) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 3909
Laguna Shores Rd. commercial (Tyler, Lot 10 Block 8) (Flour Bluff&
Enc Frm Gdn Tract 9.605 ac out of lot 24 Sec 52). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
9. 2805 Lawton St. detached garage (Harlem Park, Lot 16 Block 5)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2805
Lawton St. detached garage (Harlem Park Lot 16 Block 5). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is
authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Renee Carter,
to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 421 Pueblo
St. residence (Austin Lot 8 Block 2). If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and passed unanimously.
11. 2802 Rogers St. residence (Carver 2, Lot 16 Block 6)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Gregory Perkes, seconded by Frank
Hastings, to accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the
structure(s) according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi
Code of Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain
proper permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2802
Rogers St. residence (Carver 2 Lot 16 Block 6). If the demolition is not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
12. 3609 Wright St. residence (Airport Park, Lot 10 & 11 Block 9)

the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Gregory
Perkes, to amend staff recommendations and allow repair of the structure(s)
according to Section (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the
proper permits and start repairs to the structure(s) located at 3609
Wright St. residence (Carver, Lot 27 Block 3) and if repairs are started, an
additional sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not
started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and passed unanimously.
Appointment of new Board member: Motion was made by Vice Chairman
Jesus Jimenez, seconded by Frank Hastings to elect Shane Tomo as board
Member.
VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
Board is requesting breakdown of expenditures which are allocated and budgeted
annually of General and CDBG funds for 2009-2010.
Discussion and possible action to elect a Chairman of the board.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Jesus Jimenez, seconded by Frank Hastings to adjourn
the hearing at 3:00 p.m. on July 23, 2009.
