I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order by Gregory Perkes at 1:30 p.m. in the Council
Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.

III. MINUTES
A motion was made by Ted Stephens, and seconded by Frank Hastings to approve
the minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24, 2009. A roll call vote was
taken and the motion passed.
IV. STAFF REPORT
Staff Report presented to the Board for their information regarding cases
for 2005-2009.

V. OLD BUSINESS
A. Case returning to the Board from the Regular Meeting of September 24, 2009.
1. 4316 Hollywood Terrace residence (Hollywood Terrace, Lots 11 Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: Vince Benavides
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in
which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and
start repairs to the structure(s) located at 4316 Hollywood Terrace residence,
(Hollywood Terrace, Lots 11 Block 2) and if repairs are started, an additional
sixty (60) days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and passed unanimously.
VI. NEW BUSINESS
1. 433 Breckenridge Dr. residence (Villa Gardens, S30' of Lot 3 all Lot 4 Block 4)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: 0
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Shane Torno to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs
to the structure(s) located at 433 Breckendridge Dr. residence, (Villa Gardens;
S30' of Lot 3 all Lot 4 Block 4) and if repairs are started, an additional sixty (60)
days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed
as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and
passed unanimously

2. 4701 Cosner Dr. residence (Mahan Acres, E/2 of Lot 1 Block 3)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To grant repairs due to
the extent of deterioration
APPEARING IN FAVOR: James Fenner
APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to
accept staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain the proper permits and start repairs
to the structure(s) located at 4701 Cosner Dr. residence, (Mahan Acres, E/2' of
Lot 1 Block 3) and if repairs are started, an additional one hundred fifty (150)
days be allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed
as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and
passed unanimously
3. 2541 Dunbar St. residence (La Arboleda W/2 of Lot 31 & all Lot 32 Block 6)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

APPEARING IN OPPOSITION: 0
Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2541 Dunbar
St. residence (La Arboleda W/2 of Lot 31 & all Lot 32 Block 6). If the
demolition is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to
demolish. A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
4. 2848 Highland Ave. commercial(Montrose Park, Lot 34 Block 6)

the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Shane Torno to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2848
Highland Ave. commercial (Montrose Park, Lot 34 Block 6). If the demolition
is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.
A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
5. 2621 Johanna St residence (Lexington Sub, SE .50 of Lot 17 Block 2)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Shane Torno to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2621 Johanna
St. residence (Lexington Sub, SE .50 of Lot 17 Block 2). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
6. 2709 Lawton St. residence (Harlem Park, Lot 3 Block 5)

the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Shane Torno, seconded by Frank Hastings to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2709 Lawton
St. residence (Harlem Park, Lot 3 Block 5). If the demolition is not started and
completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote
was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Ted Stephens to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2709 Lawton
St. storage shed (Harlem Park, Lot 3 Block 5). If the demolition is not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
8. 2842 Niagara St. residence (Broadmoor Pk, Lot 14 Block 7)

the extent of deterioration

accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2842 Niagara
St. residence (Broadmoor Pk, Lot 14 Block 7). If the demolition is not started
and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call
vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.

Motion: A motion was made by Frank Hastings, seconded by Shane Torno to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2520 San
Jacinto St. residence (High Terrace, Lots 46 & 47 Block 5). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
10. 2805 Soledad St. residence (Carver 2, Lot 7 Block 6)

the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Shane Torno to
amend staff recommendations to allow repairs to the structure(s) according to
Section 13-26 (G) (1) (a) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of Ordinances in which
the owner be allowed fourteen (14) days to obtain the proper permits and start
repairs to the structure(s) located at 2805 Soledad St. residence, (Carver, Lot 7
Block 6) and if repairs are started, an additional one hundred fifty (150) days be
allowed to complete the repairs. If repairs are not started and completed as
required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A roll call vote was taken and
passed unanimously
11. 554 Wagonwheel Dr. residence (Rolling Acres, Lot 9A Block 6)

Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper

is not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish.
A roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
12. 2529 Wainwright St. residence (La Arboleda, Lot 29 Block 4)
STAFF RECOMMENDATION: To require demolition due to
the extent of deterioration

Motion: A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Shane Torno to
accept staff recommendations and require demolition of the structure(s)
according to Section 13-26 (G) (1) (c) of the City of Corpus Christi Code of
Ordinances in which the owner be allowed thirty (30) days to obtain proper
permits and complete the demolition of the structure(s) located at 2529
Wainwright St. residence (La Arboleda, Lot 29 Block 4). If the demolition is
not started and completed as required, then the City is authorized to demolish. A
roll call vote was taken and the motion passed unanimously.
VII. IDENTIFY ITEMS FOR FUTURE AGENDA
A motion was made by Ted Stephens, seconded by Frank Hastings to table items to
the next regular meeting for discussion and recommendation for appointment of new
Board member and elect a Chairman of the Board.
VII. ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Gregory Perkes seconded by Shane Torno to adjourn the
hearing at 2:43 p.m. on November 19, 2009.
