Chairperson Bob White called the meeting to order at 12:00 p.m. and verified the necessary quorum. The
minutes from April 16, 2007 meeting were reviewed. Dr. Bruce Stratton motioned to approve the minutes
and Connie Gutierrez seconded the motion. All Commissioners approved.
1. REVIEW AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING VIOLATION APPEALS—none
2. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION ON RECOMMENDATION TO CITY
COUNCIL REGARDING CABLE COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION VACANT
POSITION—Bob White discussed that there have been a total of five applications received. He
stated Mr. Scott Ponton is employed with AT&T which is a conflict of interest. Mr. White also
stated that Sandra Maddox is no longer with her employer and he was unable to contact her. Mr.
White discussed that the other three applicants were Ms. Latrice Sellers, Joan Veith and Carolyn
Moon. Connie Gutierrez motioned to nominate Carolyn Moon for the vacant position. Dr. Bruce
Stratton seconded the motion. All Commissioners approved.
3. DISCUSSION AND POSSIBLE ACTION REGARDING CHANNEL 10 PUBLIC ACCESS
USERS GROUP BY-LAWS — Jack Gordy discussed that Channel 10 modified and approved
their by-laws to be consistent with the new Rules and Procedures for Public Access Cablecasting.
Dr. Bruce Stratton motioned to approve the Channel 10 By-Laws. Steve West seconded. All
Commissioners approved.
4. CABLE OPERATOR REPORT—none
5. STAFF UPDATES—The Commission recognized Susan Cable for her contributions.
6. PAUG UPDATES —Jack Gordy, Channel 10 PAUG, did not have updates for the commission.
Jesse Nesmith, Channel 18 PAUG, explained that Pastor Vestel has had audio issues with his
programs. Steve West offered for Mr. Nesmith to visit him regarding the issue and he would
assist in resolving the issue.
7. PUBLIC COMMENT—none
8. COMMISSIONERS COMMENTS—Mr. Bob White thanked both Channel 10 and 18 for their
consideration.
9. ADJOURNMENT — Steve West motioned to adjourn. Connie Gutierrez seconded the motion.
All Commissioners approved. The meeting adjourned at 12:35 p.m.
