CITIZENS ADVISORY HEALTH BOARD
March 30, 2005
Corpus Christi-Nueces County Public Health District

Members Present: Karen Beard, Chair,Amanda Stukenberg,Vice-Chair,Dr. Melissa Wilson, Tony C. Diaz,
Ed.D, Leo Barrera,Michelle Thomas, Melinda Gonzales, and Rose Caballero

Mr.Barrett suggested identifying an audience by Michelle Thomas thought

Further discussion took place regarding the
questionnaire,board members felt the questionnaire
should include the following:
• Language barrier
• Transportation issue
• Time of CAHB meeting when held in
Robstown
Discuss Next The next meeting will include the director's report,
Meeting results of the questionnaire,and formulate the
Agenda Robstown focus points.
It was suggested to forward PSA's to the Robstown
newspaper and Spanish Talk Radio to promote the
meeting.
Ms. Gonzales noted that car pooling would be
helpful when going to Robstown and other non-
centralized meetings.
Board Dr.Wilson educated the board of the Tarrant County
Comments Fit Future program; she felt it was very positive and
hoped such an event could be coordinated locally.
Ms. Rodriguez invited the CAHB to public health
week. On Tuesday,4/5/05,staff will walk one mile
at 8:00am,the afternoon will showcase each of the
health district divisions along with other community
partners. She added that at the end of the month
would be lab week,there would be a showcase of the
newly upgraded Level 3 Lab.
The County consultant's report will be mailed upon
receipt by the health district.
