Chairperson Bonilla called the 554"' Civil Service Board hearing to order at 9:01 a.m.
Chairperson Bonilla read agenda item fl:
Review and approve the minutes of the 553`' Civil Service Board Hearing held
January 12, 2012.
Board Member Saenz made a rnotion to approve the minutes and Catherine Lutz seconded. All rnembers
agreed and the minutes were approved.
Chairperson Bonilla read agenda item #2:
ITEM 92 Review and consider the appeal filed by Jason Yzaguirre, Concrete Finisher with
the Storm Water Department, for his termination.
Chairperson 130nilla rnade a note for the record that Mr. Yzaguirre is not hers; and inquired what hind of notice
he received.
Roxana Stevens, Assistant City Attorney representing the City, identified herself and stated that Mr. Yzaguirre
was sent notifications both certified and regular mail of the hearing date and time. further, Ms. Stevens stated
that the City attempted all phone numbers that we could find for Mr. Yzaguirre, and the City sent the rnail to the
last known address for Mr. Yzaguirre. Ms. Stevens explaining that numerous messages were left on the only
working number that we could find for Mr, Yzaguirre; however, we did not receive a return phone call. Slre
further explained that the City went above and beyond by contacting the Doctor Center to inquire of Mr.
Yzaguirre's contact information,
Ms. Stevens further explained that Mr. Yzaguirre has not been responsive in providing information, docket
control, or' in communicating with legal in their attempt to resolve the appeal. Ms. Stevens asked the Civil
Service Board to dismiss the appeal.
Chairperson Bonilla announced the appeal was dismissed.
Chairperson Bonilla adjourned the meeting at 9:04 a.m.
