Chairperson Bonilla called the meeting to order at 9:08 AM.
Chairperson Bonilla read Item #1 from the agenda.
Item #1: Review and approve the minutes of the 493"i Civil Service Commission meeting
held August 27, 2012.
Chairperson Bonilla read Item 42 from the agenda.
Item #2: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter 1, Matthew
Charbonneau for question #71 from the Firefighter 11 EMS examination
administered on August 6, 2013.
Chairperson Bonilla read Item #3 from the agenda.
Item #3: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter I, Matthew
Charbonneau for question #82 from the Firefighter II EMS examination
administered on August 6, 2013.
Commission Member Lutz made motion to approve the minutes and Chairperson Bonilla seconded. All
Members agreed.
Chairperson Bonilla read Item 42 from agenda.
Yasmine Chapman read the question being appealed, question # 71, all possible answers for the question,
and the recommended action given by the test creator.
Chairperson Bonilla requested that Item #3 be presented and read Item 93 from agenda.
Yasmine Chapman read the question being appealed, question # 82, all possible answers for the question,
and the recommended action given by the test creator
Chairperson Bonilla requested Firefighter I, Matthew Charbonneau to present his argument for the appeal:
he stated his argument was placed on his appeal firm.
Chairperson Bonilla announced that the meeting went into closed session at 9:14 AM pursuant to the
authority Section 551.074 of Texas Open Meetings Act to discuss the appeal.
At 9:23 AM Chairperson Bonilla announced that the meeting was back on the record.
Chairperson Bonilla asked the Commission Members if there is a motion on Item # 2.
Commission Member Catherine Lutz made a motion to keep the original answer as on the answer key for
question 471, and Chairperson Bonilla seconded.
Chairperson Bonilla asked the Commission Members ifthere is a motion on Item # 3.
Commission Member Catherine Lutz made a motion to allow more than one correct answer for question
#82,and Chairperson Bonilla seconded.
All Members agreed with the decision.
Chairperson Bonilla adjourned the meeting at 9:27 AM.
