Guy Nickleson called the meeting to order at 9:06am.
Guy Nickleson read the items on the agenda.
Item 41: Review and approve the minutes of the 500th Civil Service Commission hearing
held on October 23, 2015.
Item 42: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter I, Homero Garza, 468
from the Firefighter EMS H examination administered on January 12, 2016.
Item 43: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter I, Homero Garza, 476
from the Firefighter EMS H examination administered on January 12, 2016.
Chair Nickleson read Item 41 of the agenda. Member Tammy McDonald made a motion to
approve the minutes, Mr. Nickleson seconds the motion. Minutes were approved.
Chairperson Nickleson read Item#2 from the agenda.
Item #2: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter I, Homero Garza,
#68 from the Firefighter EMS II examination administered on January 12,
2016.
Yasmine Chapman read the question being appealed, question 468, all possible answers for the
question, and the test creator's response to deny this appeal.
Firefighter I, Homero Garza,presented his argument against question 468. There is no one
present to support or rebut Mr. Garza's argument.
Chairperson Nickleson read Item#3 from the agenda.
Item #3: Review and consider the appeal submitted by Firefighter I, Homero Garza,
#76 from the Firefighter EMS II examination administered on January 12,
2016.
Yasmine Chapman read the question being appealed, question 476, all possible answers for the
question, and the test creator's response to deny this appeal.
Firefighter I, Homero Garza,presented his argument against question 476. There is no one
present to support or rebut Mr. Garza's argument.
Closed session is called at 9:25 am.
Open Session is called at 9:34 am.
A motion is made by Tammy McDonald to deny appeals to Item 42, question 468 and Item
43, question 476.
Chair Nickleson seconds the motion.
