Tour of.Homes Clean Up-Oct. 23, Garret Dorsey asked for support for the upcoming Tour of Homes which touted Coastal Bend builders and their green components.Solid Waste Operations would have the new blue recycling carts onsite outside each of the homes on tour.. Shuttle services would be available. The CCAC moved to support the event with marketing efforts for the clean up effort which would occur down Rodd Field road. b. Surfrider Foundation's"Skip the Plastic" presentation, Neal McQueen of the Surf.Rider Foundation gave an overview of their initiative. Surfriders are an international organization of over 50,000 members. Every year,they conduct two Coastal Bend water clean ups. The CCAC moved to draft a formal resolution to City Council announcing their support in the form of a formal endorsement. c. Litter citations,CCPD's Commander Mark Schauer addressed the CCAC about the various levels of littering, throwdown and illegal dumping. The latter being an arrestable offense.. Several organizations and community groups are looking to curb our litter problem,some easily done(UNI group trying to install and maintain trashcans up and clown Leopard Street)others not so much, i.e.wind. SCANNED d. Janet Harte Recycling Event-Nov 13, Daiquiri Richard/Angela Rowe addressed the CCAC on an exciting project to raise awareness of the upcoming recycling program. Art Students at Tuloso Midway and Flour Bluff schools would be painting the new blue recycling. Celebrity judges would be needed to judge the contest and winners would receive various prizes. Carts would then go on tour at La Palmera Mall,the Airport, Museum, all Libraries and City Hall. This event would also coincide with the 3`d Annual E Recycling Event,which would be collected at both sites along with the Goodwill Donation Station. e. Recycling Program Updates Currently in negotiations. Contract would be for at least ten years. Two separate contracts were in the works: one for the recycling cart,the other for RecycleBank. A.Rowe to be heavily involved through all facets of the process and would update the CCAC every month hereafter.. f. Upcoming Events: Another standing agenda item. The CCAC will be updated monthly on progress and execution of upcoming events. g. CCmobile Update, Michael Armstrong, Director of MIS presented the newest endeavor in keeping up with citizen's calls. The app sends geographic coordinated and ha s the ability to send photos of areas of concern. VI: Agenda items for next meeting: Status of Skip the Plastic resolution, review the litter control plan, change of time, HEB recycling efforts, Bottle Bill? VIII. Adjourn at 4:44, Motion: J.
