1. CALL TO ORDER
Judge Linda Lee Henry, CBCOG Chairman, called the meeting to order at
2 :00 PM. Richard Bullock called the roll. Ten of twelve counties were
represented and 21 out of 34 votes were in attendance.
2 . APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE DECEMBER 18, 2009 MEETING
A motion was made by Mr. Soliz to approve the minutes of the December 18,
2009 meeting. Councilman Kieschnick seconded this motion. The minutes
of the December 18, 2009 meeting were approved by unanimous vote of the
members present.
3 . TREASURER'S REPORT
Richard Bullock presented this report for the month of December. He
referred to the first page of the report mailed with the meeting agenda.

Judge Simpson moved for the approval of the December 2009 Treasurer' s
Report. Commissioner Trevino seconded this motion. The Treasurer' s Report
for the month of December 2009 was approved by unanimous vote of the
members present at the end of the meeting.
4. ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION BY THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
A. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Confirmation of Committee Appointments
Judge Henry made one appointment and that was to the Council on Aging:
Mr. Jose Trevino
Judge Simpson made a motion to confirm this appointment. Commissioner
Trevino seconded this motion. The appointments were confirmed by
unanimous vote of the members present.
B. COUNCIL ON AGING REPORT
Mr. Adan Alaniz, Jr. , Chairman of the Council on Aging, presented this
report.
1 . RESOLUTION NO. 2814
A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING'S REGIONAL BUDGET BASED ON
FISCAL YEAR 2009 FUNDING AND FINAL ACTIVITY TRANSFERS FOR TITLE III OLDER
AMERICANS ACT FUNDS, STATE GENERAL REVENUE FUNDS AND OTHER FEDERAL
SOURCES TOTALING $3,379, 877 INCLUDING CARRYOVER FROM PRIOR FISCAL YEAR.
Judge Simpson moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2814.
Commissioner Trevino seconded this motion. Resolution No. 2814 was
adopted by unanimous vote of the members present.
2 . RESOLUTION NO. 2815
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO UPDATE- AND/-OR. EXECUTE
VENDOR AGREEMENTS WITH SUPPORTIVE SERVICE AGENCIES THAT ARE OR WILL
BECOME PART OF THE AREA AGENCY ON AGING'S DIRECT PURCHASE OF SERVICES
VENDORS POOL FOR THE PROVISION OF VARIOUS SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR
TARGETED OLDER PERSONS OR THEIR CAREGIVERS IN THE TWELVE COUNTY COASTAL
BEND AREA FOR FISCAL YEAR 2010 .
Judge Simpson moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2815.
Commissioner Trevino seconded this motion. Resolution No. 2815 was
adopted by unanimous vote of the members present.
C. PUBLIC PROTECTION COMMITTEE REPORT
Dr. Ann Matula, Chairman of the Public Protection Committee gave this
report..

•RESOLUTION NO. 2816
A RESOLUTION REVIEWING AND COMMENTING FAVORABLY ON APPLICATIONS FOR THE
AMERICAN RECOVERY AND REINVESTMENT ACT OF 2009, S.T:O.P. VIOLENCE AGAINST
WOMEN ACT (VAWA) PROGRAM - VAWA RECOVERY ACT SOLICITATION APPLICATIONS
INCLUDE: CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI, _DUVAL COUNTY AND THE WOMEN'S SHELTER OF
SOUTH TEXAS.
Commissioner Trevenio moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2816. Mr.
Kieschnick seconded this motion. Resolution No. 2816 was adopted by
unanimous vote of the members present.
D. NOMINATING COMMITTEE REPORT
Mr. Oscar Soliz, Chairman of the CBCOG. Nominating Committee gave this
report. He reported that the Nominating Committee met on January '19, --
2010 and recommended the following officers and executive board members
. for the coming year. •

Mr. Soliz made a motion to accept the Nominating Committee Report. Judge
Huff seconded the motion. The Nominating Committee report was accepted
by-unanimous vote of the members present.

5. Announcements and Non-Action Items
Mr. Dick Messbarger, Executive Director of the Kingsville Economic
Development Corporation and Mr. J. J. Johnson with the Corpus
Christi Regional Economic. Development Corporation gave a
presentation about their 7-county group known as the Regional
Marketing Association. Their presentation centered around
partnering with the CBCOG in the development of regional economic
data and other demographic information for use in the pursuit of
economic growth and development in the region.

With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2 :35 PM.
