1. CALL TO ORDER
Bill Hennings, CBCOG Chairman called the meeting to order at 2 : 05 P.M.
John Buckner called the roll . There were 9 of 12 counties represented
and 23 out of 34 votes in attendance.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE MARCH 28, 2003 MEETING
Mr. Soliz moved for approval of the March 28, 2003 meeting minutes. Mr.
Moss seconded this motion. The minutes of the March 28, 2003 meeting
ull were approved by unanimous vote of the members present.
:2: 3. TREASURER'S REPORT
John Buckner presented this report for the month of March 2003 .
Referring to the first page of reports mailed to the membership with the
agenda for the meeting, he summarized the financial transactions for the

-motj0n The Treasurer' s Report for March 2003 was approved by unanimous
vote of the members present at the end of the meeting.
4. ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION BY THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS
A. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
1. Confirmation of Committee Appointments
Mr. Hennings reported that no recommendations for advisory committee
appointments were received this month.
• 2 . Authorization for up to three CBCOG Board Members to attend the National
Association of Regional Councils' 37th Annual Meeting
Mr. Moss moved for authorization of up to three CBCOG board members be
authorized to attend this meeting. His motion was seconded by Mr.
Vasquez. The members present authorized up to three CBCOG board members
• be allowed to attend the 37th Annual Meeting of the National Association
of Regional Councils in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
B. PUBLIC PROTECTION COMMITTEE REPORT
Chief Tim Jayroe, Rockport Police Department and Chairman of the Public
Protection Committee presented this report.
RESOLUTION NO. 2483
A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE REGIONAL CRIMINAL JUSTICE GRANT APPLICATION
PRIORITY RANKINGS WHICH REPRESENT THE NEEDS AND PRIORITIES OF THE
CRIMINAL JUSTICE AGENCIES IN THE COASTAL BEND REGION. -
Mr. Soliz moved for adoption of Resolution No. 2483 . Mr. Sauceda
seconded his motion. Resolution No. 2483 was adopted by unanimous vote
of the members present.
C. COUNCIL ON AGING REPORT

Betty Lamb presented this report.
RESOLUTION NO. 2484
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO ALLOCATE $69,613 OF .
FISCAL YEAR 2002 OLDER AMERICAN' S ACT CARRYOVER TO SERVICE ACTIVITIES FOR .
FISCAL YEAR 2003, OFFSETTING ACTUAL DECREASES IN FISCAL YEAR 2003 AWARDS.
COMPARED TO EARLIER PLANNING PROJECTIONS.
Mr. Soliz moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2484. Commissioner_
Nardini seconded his motion. Resolution No. 2484 was adopted by. .'

5. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NON-ACTION ITEMS
•
Dr. Linda Avila, Dean . of the Community Outreach Program at Texas A&M
University-Corpus Christi and Chairman of the Regional Leaders Forum
Steering Committee gave a detailed presentation on the activities, plans
and participants in this year's Regional Leaders Forum— She again thanked
the CBCOG membership for its continued financial support to this program.

There being no further business, ' the meeting adjourned at 2 :32 PM.
Duly adopted at a meeting of the Coastal Bend Council of Governments this
30th day of May 2003 .
