1. CALL TO ORDER SCANIVE

Judge Jim Huff, CBCOG First Vice Chairman called the meeting to order at
- 2:10 P.M. John Buckner called the roll. ' There were 10 of 12 counties
represented and 23 out of 34 votes in attendance.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE APRIL 30, ;2004 MEETING
Ms.. Tennil l: moved for approval of the April 30, 2004 meeting minutes.
,Councilman .Xieschnick seconded her motion; The minutes of the April 30,
2004 meeting were approved by unanimous vote of the members present.

3.. TREASURER'S REPORT
- CBCOG 'Treasurer, Councilman Lee Roy Kieschnick, presented this report for
the month of April 2004. He referred to the first page of the handout
and addressed cash balances, wire transfers, balances and invested funds
on that page. Councilman Kieschnick moved for approval of the report.
Mr. Soliz seconded this motion. The Treasurer' s Report for the month of
April 2004 was approved by unanimous vote of the members present at the
end of the meeting.
4. ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION BY THE COUNCIL OF -GOVERNMENTS
A. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT
Confirmation of Committee Appointments
Judge Huff made appointments to the Council on Aging. Mr. W. G. West of
Corpus Christi and Mr. Val Ortega of Refugio were appointed to the
Council on Aging. Councilman Kieschnick moved to • confirm these
appointments. Commissioner Trevino seconded this motion. The
appointments to the committees were confirmed by unanimous vote of the
members present.
B. HOMELAND SECURITY COMMITTEE REPORT
R. J. Thomas presented this report on behalf of the committee. .
RESOLUTION NO. 2542
A RESOLUTION ALLOCATING $579, 767.42 OF FY04 DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND
SECURITY FUNDING TO TWENTY-SEVEN JURISDICTIONS IN THE COASTAL BEND
REGION.
Mr. Soliz moved for adoption of Resolution No. 2540. Ms. Tennill
seconded his motion. Resolution No. 2542 was adopted by unanimous vote
of the members present.
C. COUNCIL ON AGING REPORT
Ms. Frances Garza, Chairman of the Council on Aging presented this
report.
1. RESOLUTION NO. 2543
A RESOLUTION REVIEWING AND COMMENTING FAVORABLY ON A GRANT APPLICATION TO
THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT ON AGING FOR A GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $15, 000 FOR
ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY TO SUPPORT AGING IN PLACE FOR OLDER PERSONS IN THE
TWELVE COUNTY COASTAL BEND AREA. (Total_ Project Cost: $20, 000)
Ms. Tennill .moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2543_ Commissioner
Trevino seconded her motion. Resolution No_ 2543 was adopted by
unanimous vote of the members present.

2 . RESOLUTION NO. 2544
A RESOLUTION REVIEWING AND COMMENTING FAVORABLY ON A GRANT APPLICATION TO

HOME MODIFICATIONS AND REPAIRS FOR OLDER TEXANS IN THE TWELVE COUNTY
COASTAL BEND AREA. (Total Project Cost: $20, 000)
Commissioner Wilson -moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2544 . Ms.
Tennill seconded his motion. Resolution No. 2544 was adopted by
unanimous vote Of the members present.
2 . RESOLUTION NO. 2545 .
--A-RESOLUTION AMENDING--THE—AREA AGENCY ON AGING AREA PLAN FOR FISCAL YEAR
2004-2006 TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT ON AGING ADDING A LOCAL STRATEGY THAT
ADDRESSES THE PURCHASE OF GAP-FILLING, ASSISTIVE TECHNOLOGY ITEMS TO
SUPPORT AGING IN PLACE FOR OLDER PERSONS IN THE TWELVE COUNTY COASTAL
BEND AREA.
Commissioner Trevino moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2545.
Judge Saenz seconded this. motion. Resolution No. 2545 was adopted by
unanimous vote of the members present.

5. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NON-ACTION ITEMS
Richard Bullock distributed a memorandum regarding appointments to the
Coastal Bend Regional Review ,Committee and who to contact at the
Governor' s Office in that regard.
Betty Lamb reported that the Silver Hair Legislature election was up and
anyone interested could contact her after the meeting.
Judy Telge, Chairman Of the Coastal Bend Affordable Housing Committee, a
new advisory committee of the CBCOG reported on current and future
activities of that .group.

There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 2 :40 PM.
