CALL TO ORDER Councilman Lee Roy Kieschnick, CBCOG Chairman, called the meeting to order at 2:02 P.M. John Buckner called the roll. Nine of twelve counties were represented and 24 out of 34 votes were in attendance. 2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF THE MARCH 30, 2007 MEETING A motion was made by Mr. Soliz to approve the minutes of the March 30, 2007 meeting. Ms. Tennill seconded this motion. The minutes of the March 30, 2007 meeting were approved by unanimous vote of the members present. SCANNED Minutes Page 2 April 30, ,.2007 3. TREASURER'S REPORT City''Commissioner Al Garcia, CBCOG Treasurer, presented this report for the month of March 2007. He referred to the first page of the reports mailed to the membership with the agenda and summarized the information. Ms. Tennill made a motion to approve the Treasurer' s Report. Commissioner Nardini seconded the motion. The Treasurer's Report for the months of March 2007 was approved by unanimous vote of the members present at the end of the meeting. 4. ITEMS REQUIRING ACTION BY THE COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS A. CHAIRMAN'S REPORT Confirmation of Committee Appointments No appointments were made at this meeting. B. HOMELAND SECURITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE REPORT Mark Bohrer gave this report. RESOLUTION NO. 2710 A RESOLUTION RE-ALLOCATING FY 2006 STATE HOMELAND SECURITY GRANT FUNDING IN THE COASTAL BEND REGION. Ms. Roberts moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2710. Judge Huff seconded the motion. Resolution No. 2710 was adopted by majority vote of the members present. [There was one vote against the motion.] C. PUBLIC PROTECTION COMMITTEE REPORT Dr._Ann_ Matula gave this report on behalf of the committee. RESOLUTION NO. 2711 A RESOLUTION REVIEWING AND COMMENTING FAVORABLY ON APPLICATIONS FOR THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT (VOCA) FUND TO THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, AND THE VICTIMS OF CRIME ACT APPLICATIONS BE RANKED AS FOLLOWS: 1. CITY OF CORPUS CHRISTI; 2. THE WOMEN'S SHELTER OF SOUTH TEXAS; 3. NUECES COUNTY CHILDREN' S ADVOCACY CENTER; 4. FAMILY COUNSELING SERVICES; 5. DUVAL COUNTY; AND, 6. TEXAS RIOGRANDE LEGAL AID, INC. Ms. Tennill moved for the adoption of Resolution No. 2711. Judge Huff seconded the motion. Resolution No. 2708 was adopted by majority vote of the members present. ANNOUNCEMENTS AND NON-ACTION ITEMS Richard Bullock announced that the American Planning Association is working with the City of Corpus Christi Planning Department to host a workshop for city planning and zoning officials on June 29, 2007 in Corpus Christi. He had information available if representatives would like to consider signing up for the workshop. 6. ADJOURN There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 2:17 PM.
